whenever i look at a class syllabus for what sort of things/assignments im going to be doing for the term, i always have this blinding moment (which lasts anywhere between 10 minutes to 2 weeks) where i start to panic because

oh my god i dont know how to do any of this stuff in the slightest everyones gonna know that im a horrifically incompetent moron that somehow managed to flub my way in with sheer luck

despite that fact that me not knowing how to do the things... is precisely the reason why im taking it... im taking it to learn how to do the thing...which is how classes and schooling works

but apparently me not knowing things instantaneously is unacceptable and is punishable by death
