The Dynamic Duo
Nothing greater. #abSOULutely nothing greater than the love felt during this particular session @verzuztv #verzuz. When the legends come out with years of experience, to remind us of the truth of #musicquality, #performance, with sheer and utter #grace. #Bowdown #pattilabelle #gladysknight and #dionnewarwick : : : : #bgm #blackexcellence #queenbehavior #soulfood https://www.instagram.com/p/CFHleHOn-GQ/?igshid=y1xjt6l5b0qw

Finally
getting the ball rolling back with the album that’s been on the mind for the whole decade of ‘10.
At this point I’m almost ashamed that I’ll probably be finishing it up at the end of my twenties. I can only trust that my procrastination & distractions the timing of all this makes perfect sense in the eyes of the Lord, right?
I’ve kept giving myself reasons to push it off, the worst one being “I’m sad”. The final reason being, however, marriage! I love my wife and I also love music, so this is something I’d like to finally get out of the way. I wish I could solely drive on the motivation of the love for my wife & my faith in God but my procrastination techniques still creep in.... I hate it.
After piling together all the recordings I could uncover in the last 8 years, I’ve created 3 hours and 48 minutes of original music for Absoulutely - demos of roughly 30 ideas. I’m hoping it’s enough quality for me to understand how to handle the content next. I’ve been terrible about the organization since day 1 and have lost important ideas I’ve moved on from. Today, I begin the last of my journaling & demoing towards the production process!
Finally
jotting down some lyrics for my doggamn song I wrote four years ago. And, typical as always, I’m stuck thinking way too ahead on how this song needs to be on a motherfucking Michael Jackson production level.
#blog (11.11.2016)
Here’s a slew of thoughts I was going to post on Facebook on Veteran’s Day, here it is 5 days later
1. I am super thankful for those who have served and are serving to protect our country.
(You probably shouldn’t read the rest.)
2. I’m praying that the shock from Election Day is surging all of us to pursue everyone we meet in the future with genuine kindness, utmost respect, total openness and without bias. The media sure does fuel us with what we *hear* about people. I want to give every person of every race, gender, orientation, religion and ideology a chance at first, without immediate judgment. I believe in the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, and I will love Muslims and Buddhists and homosexuals and transgenders and pretty much anyone different from straight white males that abide in the United States. Get that. I’m also praying that Trump really can stop ISIS, and not every other Muslim in the process.
3. I’m a straight white male (dangerous way to start), but I’m lamenting hard after seeing some of the stories after Tuesday night. Now more than ever, I’ve been told I need to quit carrying the weight of the world, but mostly, since Tuesday night, my heart just continues to sink. I legitimately want to assist my friends that are more distraught than I am about the outcome of the election. I love you all and want to hear where you’re coming from, and my inbox is open if you’re interested in conversation. I am.
4. My morals are tough for me to mesh with my own political beliefs, and Donald Trump really, REALLY goes against a lot of them. Maybe he’ll be good for the country, but I’m glad I’m not the only one who finds that really fucking difficult to believe after watching him run. Particularly, I’d say that I want to look out for the women and daughters in this country, but I completely understand if you reject that. I’d be advising my daughter to TRUST NO ONE.
4. I voted for Hillary Clinton, and anyone with beef about that can definitely get over themselves on account of the fact that she ain’t president. She would have made one hell of a stoic president for how dominant she was able to remain over Trump.
5. If you read “milk & honey” by Rupi Kaur, you really can’t help but wonder how paradoxically fragile and unbreakable women are, but electing that man for president is a huge step backwards. Men, buck up and read that book. It’s a beautiful, harsh sting of a read.
6. I overthink Facebook/social media too much and don’t post often for that reason. I haven’t kept in the best of touch with many of you, and I’ve felt especially guilty about that over the last few months. My personal experience has proven to me that life is extremely confusing after school ends, and I picked a path that I never realized the open-ended-ness of it. I’m learning, embarrassing, succeeding and failing, hopefully like the rest of you, but I love to see when good things are happening in your life. Keep that comin’ and I’ll try to do the same. (This point was really half-assed and, while I miss a lot of people, I just really don’t love to post on FB much anymore)
7. Thanks for taking in this extra heavy status and surprised you may have read/skimmed through it all.
8. I turn 25 tomorrow and I don’t think I can get any less crotchety about life at this point, and since I already apologize too much, I can hardly even be sorry for that. You all carry me through life and don’t even know it - love all of you (that refers to my tumblr followers just as well, especially 2010-2013 *like wow*)
9. I never responded to your letter from last July, and I’ll continue to regret it for a while. My silence has been persistent (not on here obviously) because I think it’s hypocritical and unjustifiable to speak to you - I called you out of the blue last year after not speaking and I did not follow through; I ruined it again. It took over half a year, but I’ve finally stopped slaving over whether it was right or wrong for me to move here. All I know is that it’s the decision I made. It was wrong for us, and it’s right in other ways. I’d muster up an apology if it meant anything, but I’ve said “sorry” so many times… what does it even mean when I say it anymore? I don’t really think you want to hear it, and I’m sure you’re done with this already; I really messed up.
10. I’ve been in the process of writing an album, Absoulutely. Recently, an employee at a recording studio down the road from where I teach lessons gave me a tour of the facilities, and it’s surprisingly affordable. First idea that came to mind was to record said album, but I want to inquire about throwing in 3 or 4 cover songs that I’d write a brand new album around. (Not to mention Absoulutely is fucking tricky to get the ball rolling again each time it stops)
11. anxiety?
....
When I said I'd be creating an album I had no idea what I'd be getting my songs into I thought they would be getting into an album, but the album is getting into the songs And listening to SMiLE has only made the idea of an album confusingly clearer, or clearly confusing
