The Assassin Brotherhood has been a cult for at least 900 years; even if, during Bayek and Ezio Auditore’s times, it was more benevolent than stifling.
Natasha Romanoff found evidence of an organization forcing children to become Assassins. With flashbacks of the Red Room blaring in her mind like sirens, it was all they could do to keep her from bolting off on her own to take it down singlehandedly.
