I hate ship battling so much in blck flag. Too much maneuvering required on something that moves and turns so friggen slowly. Like I’ll do it and enjoy the missions still but god damn is it hard and slow lmao
Here’s some screenshots I made during my favourite quest from Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag. Mary is still one of my fav characters from AC series :D And that look for Edward... XDDDD (Sorry for hungarian subtitles :) )

Mary Read's notes — 1705. February 17. This fuckin' weather is just a perfect match to my fucked mood. It's dark and rainy. Aye, rain in the West Indies. It's strange sometimes, but I quite like it. Even now, when I sit in my cabin, write this shite and let my thoughts wander 'bout... ...His death. Aye, 'bout his death. I want Ivan Eric Wolfe's death. And I want to do the work. I already have ideas for it. I want to cut up his lungs and break his legs. Cut out his heart also. Oh... And... unman him. Just properly. Of course I want to hear and watch him as he's cryin' and screamin' after his pity life. It would be great! Break all of his bones, open his skull and slice my blade through his brain. I will probably do it. Who knows. This work is such a personal thing. Since he... Did things. I want a revenge. To see him suffer. To torture him. The last one sounds entertainin’ enough. And I think, I couldn't feel any regret or mercy. Nay. I could laugh on it like a maniac. This is why I start to make plans. Right now. After it I may visit the... Outside world.

Head Canon || Black Flag
Okay but I have this huge head canon about Inagua in Black Flag. So you’re all gonna hear me out because I’ve put a lot of thought into this and Jack’s history. SO here we go.
Inagua is an extinct volcano.
This is the main basis that I’ve based things on and the idea came from the shape of Inagua. When you sail into it in the game, look at the shape of it. To me it looks the like the top of a volcano that blew it’s top and the entrance into Inagua was were the lava pooled and pooled. We all know that over time the Earth has changed a lot. It’s had two ice ages and been pummeled by fuck ass rocks from space and we know in the Assassin Creed history a solar flare caused havoc over the planet. A solar flare would have triggered an eruption, mass changes throughout the world would have caused the water to rise and the one active volcano to become submerged under water and eventually go dormant to extinct.
Every Mayan statue is a key to a hidden temple.
I love puzzles, love figuring out tricks and solutions and so the Mayan statue parts in Black Flag really gave me plenty of ideas to work. To me, I took one look at it, and I saw a key. So what if the statue was turned to face a certain way and it opened up a door in the ground leading to a hidden temple where people sought refuge during the solar flare. We know that Minerva and her lot of tomatoes sought refuge and protection from the solar flare so naturally there must have been something for the others, regardless of the war going on between the two factions. Another part that brought on this idea was the pre-cursor sights in Rogue, to me that showed the world as if it was a tree and each pre cursor sight is a branch and you affect the balance of that branch and it’s going to break. This leads into another idea I have about Mother Nature.
Mother Nature exists in the form of a tree that forms the planet.
In the pre cursor sights in Rogue we know that the delicate balance of them decides the fate of the world above. Look at Haiti and Lisbon. The way that was shaped out gave me the impression that this world was built like a tree with each delicate branch holding up a city and they feed life into the world. It’s that, that makes the plants and trees grow. That is Mother Nature. To me it gave me the impression that Mother Nature was the god of all gods. Higher than Minerva and Juno, Mother Nature was the life of this planet.
Libertalia is Great Inagua.
Now we all know I love pirates and if Henry Avery had been around during Kenway and Thatch’s time that would have been pretty damn interesting. But this plays more to the idea that Inagua used to be bigger but it also plays into Pirate history. Of course nothing proves Libertalia actually existed but you gotta admit. Avery was pretty damn smart. So what if he discovered Inagua, discovered it’s secrets and expanded upon a city that was already there. In the actual game play in Black Flag there is very little exploring you can do in Inagua and I can’t be the only one that wants to know whats at the bottom of where those two rope bridges are and those waterfalls. There’s gotta be something down there, look at the ruins at the back of Inagua. There was something there and that only adds to my head canon that there was once a city there and something like that Avery would have had fun with.
Great Inagua was where Jack was born and built.
So I’ve been tinkering Jack’s back story a lot and naturally she would have had a birth place and given that she’s from the time of Minerva and Juno the world would have been shaped differently than it is now and over time we do genuinely forget things especially if they are traumatic. Now Great Inagua would have looked differently if you go back thousands of years, reduce the water down and look at it from a different angle. The volcano would have been there smoking away like the cancer stick it is while the inhabitants of the island would have thrived. A thriving city and docks, the West Indies was a thriving trading point and I feel that would have been similiar back during the time of Those Who Came Before. It also plays into why Jack is so unstable. She never got the training she was due because she put into the water to escape the damage the volcano was about to do thanks to the Solar Flare. She would have seen her home burn and something that traumatic you would want to forget and at such a young age you would be unstable if you were suddenly given these abilities with no instructions, watched your home burn, lost your stability, killed your Captain and watched your Crew burn. All that would take a toll on somebody’s mental state.
Much more exploring to do in Inagua.
You’re doing your exploring in Inagua and lo and behold you’re on one of those rope bridges, you’re looking out over those water falls and then you look down. So many trees and steam that you can’t see anything. But what’s down there? Where did the ruins come from? Was it just the Mayan’s that used to live there?
No, that’s my answer. I personally feel that you could go explore it in much more depth and in doing so you would come across a long lost city, you would end up exploring further and further into the huge ass mountains and eventually find it gets warmer and warmer an lo and behold there’s lava thousands of feet below you. To get out, you’ve to go down and then up. Markings line the walls, history lays in ruins and forgotten. Or that’s my version of it at least. We know Volcano’s have LOADS of tunnels and caverns and even with an extinct or dormant Volcano. If you travel deep enough, you’re gonna come across the lava at some point. It may not be possible to travel such depths without proper equipment in most cases, especially when it comes to pressure. (deep sea diving for example) but still it’s enough to tickle my fancy.
Now I’m no historian and this is all just ideas my over active imagination has came up from the amount of time I’ve played Black Flag, hell even the other AC games. But there is still so much left unanswered in my opinion and I know we can only explore certain parts because that’s what the game makers designed etc but the unexplored parts will always put that seed in your mind. What’s out there? Where does that go? Etc etc blah blah blah.
Now of course this is all just my ideas and thoughts I’ve been putting too much focus on but every time I go to Inagua in Black Flag all I see is the top of a Volcano and a solar flare would have triggered such an explosive eruption. And I can’t be the only one disappointed that you can’t get down to see whats at the bottom of those two huge ass waterfalls. I can’t be the only one that thinks there’s something behind them. To me Great Inagua has many more secrets. But that’s just me.
Thanks for reading. It probably made no sense but hell I never make sense. WOOHOO!!!
