Rumor Has It ( Maria & Julius )

Maria didn’t know why she was worrying so much about that silly article in the gossip section of the paper, but for some reason she couldn’t stop worrying about how the news had effected Julius. She knew her friend was a strong person and generally not the type to let gossip bog him down, but... Still. Having someone publicly accuse you of being a prostitute? The entire thing had left a sour taste in her mouth, and after she finished up with work, the bluenette decided that the best way to stop worrying would be to drop in on Julius and check on him. Even if he wasn’t bothered by it, having an excuse to visit her friend was never a bad thing. 

Once she’d left her work, the bluenette made the trip to the Accessory shop Julius owned and made her way inside. Smoothing the skirt she was wearing, she glanced around a moment before announcing her arrival.

“Julius? It’s Maria.”

Julius wasn't actually around to give RIck his, admittedly lame, gifts in person: He was already out and about delivering things. So instead, he had left the single Aster on the table along with three boiled eggs, a note included apologizing for the lame gift and mentioning that the rest of the dozen eggs were in the fridge.

  When Rick woke up, Julius was already gone. Yawning as he exited his room, still in his chicken pj’s, Rick spotted something on the table in the living room. Looking closer, there was a flower, boiled eggs, and a note. Julius got him a present? Not only that, eggs. All Rick got Julius was some cheap earrings....Oh, wait. It was probably just because Rick invited him to stay at his apartment.

   Rick picked up the note to read it. Julius even apologized for it being a lame gift. I mean, Rick had plenty of eggs. He actually just bought some fresh eggs from the bazaar, but these boiled eggs probably cost more then the earrings he bought. Maybe he could pick something up for Julius while he was out.

  After eating hard-boiled eggs fro breakfast, Rick got ready for the day. He didn’t have work because it was a holiday. Thanksgiving. So, he was going to go drop off some gifts.

Julius isn't quite as surprised to see Rick works at Royal Paws, at least not compared to the shock of the Spa. He greets the redhead in an amiable manner, then proceeds to get money out as he speaks. "I was hoping I could buy the canary that was being advertised the other day~"

 Rick was very eager to work lately so he could make some money to make up for his loss. Then, Julius walked in. Oh no, is he getting a pet? Rick was quite fond of animals but the thought of a dog or cat running around the apartment making a lot of noise. It can’t be too bad. Rick greeted Julius with a smile as was the store’s policy. Did he just ask for a canary? A bird? Oh hell no..

   “You want to buy a bird? Are you sure? They’re quite noisy you know.” Rick suddenly had a vision of himself lying in bed late at night, not able to sleep because a bird tweeting is keeping him up. Why did their apartment have to allow animals? He couldn’t refuse a customer and he was in need of money. Rick went and got the canary out of it’s cage and put it in a smaller one, bringing it to the front desk.

   “Here you go. That will be 2,000G.”

Julius, no idea that Rick was the only spa employee, rang up the Funland Spa and started asking about the gift baskets. Showing interest especially in the "ultimate" one.

  Rick forced a smile when Julius walked into Funland Spa. Working at a spa, Rick had to deal with a lot of unpleasant people, not that Julius was unpleasant. It was just...still a bit awkward between them.

  Julius seemed to be there for the 30% sale like everyone else. Rick and no I idea why everyone wanted scented shampoo and lotion. Maybe Popuri would want one...

  “Gift Basket #1 is 500G. Thank you for choosing Funland Spa.”

   A blind date at a water park....Why did Rick sign up? Well, he was tired of people telling him to have more fun, relax, get a girlfriend, blah blah blah. Pools and the beach and other water activities were always such a hassle with glasses, and Rick really didn’t care for them overall. 

   Rick sat down by the water with the swan raft waiting for his date. This wouldn’t be Rick’s first date, but it felt as if it were. Never being too popular at school, Rick wondered if his date would be disappointed. What if she just left or didn’t show up at all. It wouldn’t be the first time.... 

  Checking his watch, Rick began to grow irritated. Where were they? Rick had been waiting there for 20 minutes and felt the hot sun on his back. Just as he was about to leave, he was approached by a girl...no wait a boy? The long purple hair threw Rick off, yet it was slightly familiar.

  “Julius? You’re not my date, right...?” Mentally crossing his fingers, Rick recalled when his cousin, Luna introduced Julius to him. Julius was odd...to say the least. Plus, Rick had no intention going on a date with a man.
