The top one is when Clay first arrives on Animus Island, look how pretty it is! All nice and green, lovely sunny day and ofc all that goes to shit when he realises he’s trapped there with his own memories- also his ancestors memories but considering he had to finish them all to stop going insane I imagine he wouldn’t be thrilled to dive back into that vat of shit.
But when Desmond gets there? The island is bleak and depressing, no trees and the sky is overcast and gloomy, black blocks of coding hovering around, the island is a lot more erratic and messy looking with broken chunks of wood everywhere and there’s no more nice sound effects of seagulls.
Considering Clay doesn’t say to Desmond ‘Thanks for changing the landscape with your subconscious mind when you got here’ I feel like it’s not Desmond who did it, it’s Clay. He’s the king of the castle there, he’s nothing but code with no physical body and has worked through every nook and cranny and ofc after everything he’s been through he’s depressed as all hell I feel like after knowing he’s trapped the island is reflecting him almost, I doubt he did it on purpose but I don’t think he cares when he notices its happened.
I am wary of this fight. Not because I am tired, but because our struggle seems to move in one direction only: towards chaos. Today I have more questions than answers. This is why I have come so far, to find clarity, so that I may better understand the purpose of our fight...and my place in it. Should anything happen to me, should my skills fail me or my ambition lead me astray, do not seek retribution or revenge in my memory, but fight to continue the search for truth, so that all may benefit. My story is one of many thousands, and the world will not suffer if it ends too soon.
Yep!
