Me realizing that I have the full ability to make accelerated healing painful
Hero/Villain Part 2
CW: Aftermath of torture, banter, deadliest catch, rich people houses
Part 1 here
The hero slept poorly. The bed beneath them was too soft and the penthouse was too quiet. As they tossed and turned they felt the wound on their side throb beneath the stitches. The pain had subsided significantly after the initial stitching and the villain had given the hero a minor painkiller that was unexpected but welcome.
At about three in the morning the hero woke up for the last time and decided that getting something to eat would be a wise decision. They peeled themself out of bed and walked slowly to the kitchen that held many memories of late-night snacking.
As the hero pulled the refrigerator open they spotted the blinking red light of a motion sensor to their right.
“That’s new,” they muttered to themselves.
They pulled a ginger ale out of the side door and cracked it open. After gulping down about half the can they scanned the fridge for something to eat. They pulled out sliced cheese from a fancy grocery store and a half empty box of pastries. They placed their finds on the counter and grabbed two pieces of beef jerky out of a bowl. After gathering all of the food they slid up onto the counter and sat down. They let their feet hang down carelessly.
Maybe it should have disturbed the hero how comfortable they were in the penthouse. It had almost been a year since they escaped the first time and it felt like no time had passed since they were last here. It should have disturbed them, but it didn’t. The warm heated floors and overly fancy food was a welcome change from the miserable conditions they had been living in for the last several months.
The hero grabbed a piece of jerky and cheese and folded them together. The familiar taste of the two together shook the hero out of the weird state of indifference to their situation. They looked around the kitchen and out of the huge window on the opposite wall. The sky was still dark and the white glaze of snow over all the buildings glistened in the blanket of artificial light. It was surreal sitting in the room that they had been bleeding out in not five hours earlier.
The hero picked up a pastry and bit into it. The taste of peaches and cream soaked through them and they breathed heavily.
“Just wait,” they muttered, “It’ll get bad again in a few hours when they wake up.” The hero scanned the room again. This time they weren’t looking for memories, they were looking for more of those blinking lights. They spotted two motion sensors pointed towards the front door and several around the windows and the stairs up to the bedrooms. It was naive of them to think that the villain wouldn’t change their security since the last time the hero had lived here but it was still disappointing to see that the escape tactic that had worked so well last time wouldn’t succeed again. They would just have to find a different way to get out this time.
The hero gingerly felt their side and sighed with relief when they felt that the wound was already closing due to their accelerated healing; the same healing that made them so attractive to the villain who enjoyed being as brutal as possible.
The hero grabbed another pastry and slid off the counter. The dulling pain gave them back the confidence that had been very absent when they arrived earlier. They slid across the hard floor and flopped down onto the same couch that they had been bleeding on only a few hours before. The blood had since disappeared and the hero smiled mischievously at the thought of the villain scrubbing blood out of the expensive material. The hero grabbed the TV remote and turned on the giant flatscreen sitting in front of them. They cringed as the loud sounds of gunfire blared out of the speakers and the hero frantically pressed the mute button then turned off the TV. They ducked behind the couch out of sight of the stairs and waited.
The next few minutes passed at a miserable pace. The hero cursed themself for being so stupid. When there was no sign that the villain had been woken up the hero flopped back onto the couch and let out a long breath. They turned the TV back on and flipped it to the animal channel. A late-night rerun of deadliest catch was playing. The hero smiled and relaxed.
The hero watched TV until the clouds outside the huge windows started to brighten. They debated turning off the TV and hiding back in the room they had woken up in. In the end whatever they decided didn’t matter because the villain appeared a few minutes after the sun pushed light through the clouds.
“I see you are helping yourself to my possessions again.” Their voice was smooth as they stood in the doorway behind the kitchen. The hero felt their confidence falter slightly. Maybe it was a bad idea to lounge around like they owned the place.
“I, um. I got hungry, you know. I lost some blood if you forgot.”
“Did you? Clearly not enough to be pragmatic. Are you trying to lose more?”
Shit. The hero stood and stepped away from the couch. “Are you planning to clean all the blood up again?” Their voice felt weak even if their words weren’t.
“Have you forgotten who normally cleaned up the blood, darling?” the villain grinned and leaned against the doorframe. The hero had not forgotten. The long nights after being beaten bloody and weak when the villain forced them to clean up after the session were something that the hero couldn’t quickly forget.
“N-no I didn’t forget.”
“And yet you seem to be acting as if you don’t have to follow the rules. Do I have to teach you your manners again?” The villain stepped towards the hero.
“No s-sorry.”
“I disagree. Come here and kneel hero.” The villain pointed at the ground by their feet and the hero felt their stomach drop.

Barry Allen’s accelerated healing is the bane of my existence
It has deprived us of almost all potential recovery whump in the show
TAT- W has accelerated healing factor & has to undergo a painful procedure but pain meds & anaesthetic have no effect on them. They try their best not to scream or cry out because they can see how much distress it's causing their team. A can sense from W's ragged breathing, muffled whimpers & the way their hands keep twitching & pulling against the restraints just how much pain they are in & take to stroking their hair to calm them down, advising them softly not to be a hero.
I’ve always adored when this happens to Cap in fics or Barry on The Flash. Whumpy deliciousness.
A opens up to their closest friend (B) about their accelerated healing abilities but B refuses to believe them, convinced that they're ill. A tells B that they can prove it & hands them a knife, ordering them to stab them. B refuses & A asks B whether they're seriously going to make them stab themselves before snatching the knife back. A is left terrified & confused when their wound doesn't appear to be healing & tells B "okay, that isn't supposed to happen," before passing out.
