No matter how confused I’ve been about a person’s label I’ve acknowledged that it’s none of my business. How confused I am and how I personally view or feel about someone else’s label genuinely doesn’t matter, and it never will, and even if someone explained their label to me I am never entitled to that explanation.

Which is why acceptance towards labels should come naturally, and which is why people should learn to understand a label if they’re in the position to learn that information. Because overall, how someone labels themselves is no one’s business but theirs- they thought the information accurately communicated their experiences to other people, their labels fits best, that’s why they use it. After so much fighting for the right to communicate one’s experiences and finally having the opportunity the only thing that hating on labels does is take steps back, attacking someone else’s labels is doing a homophobe/transphobe’s work.

Please for the love of everything, take on the mindset that someone’s identity and someone’s labels don’t matter to you, they do not hurt the community, they never will, the only people who hurt the community are those who go against it.
