what studying literature feels like
Writing tips:
“You feel the bulge in his pants” - implies that you are feeling some guy’s penis, may be sexy depending on context
“You feel the bugle in his pants” - implies that this guy has a military horn in his pants, invites confusing questions like why does he have that and how big are his pockets
Both options convey that he's horny
How dare you be funnier than me on my own post
hate when i get a password wrong and the browser goes "heyyyy :) do you want me to save those credentials you entered :)" like i am already humiliated why must you rub salt into that wound firefox
Pisses me off that i’ve seen so much marketing for “Hims” which are anti-hair loss pills which contain finasteride, minoxidil, etc, while prescribing the same chemicals as regular HRT is getting choked off for anybody under 26 in the US. “Yeah you can take this chemical but your insurance will only pay for it if you promise you’re not a tranny” fuck offffffff!!!!
OH SO THE COUNTERPART “HER” PILLS ARE FOR WEIGHT LOSS WHAT IF I BURIED A PICKAXE IN THE CEO’S SKULL
One time I worked for a major university and our insurance provider covered finasteride except for gender transition and I emailed them and I was like hey can you put in writing for me that you cover this medication as long as it's a man who needs it and they were like WHAT POLICY THAT EXCEPTION WAS A PRINTING ERROR
So like, if you have access to institutional power at all, you should use it to remind insurance companies that anti-discrimination laws exist.

I love when people try to gotcha me on my stance that all sports should be gender integrated with "even American football???" because I can instantly come back with "oh lmao, no, I don't think ANYONE should play American football at all, it's way too dangerous" like nice try but I know no amount of testosterone is going to protect you from the profound, life ruining health issues caused by getting repeated severe concussions over the course of several years. No one should play this sport.
Hi hello, non American here
Quick question
You guys are padded from the teeth to the tits, how the FUCK are you still getting injured????
Because there's no amount of padding that can truly protect the human body from getting thrown 15ft(4.5 meters) in the air by 250lbs(113 kilograms) of solid muscle hitting it at 21 mph(33 kph).
Truth is, the NFL obvious benefits from football being popular but football gives 99.9% of the people who play it the degenerative brain injury called CTE (chronic traumatic encephalitis) and there isn't really a way to fix that short of dramatically and fundamentally restructuring the entire sport to the point of it no longer really being recognizable as American Football so they spend a lot of money burying former players and doctors whistleblowing about CTE while also spending stupid amounts of money developing "high quality gear" and convincing the public and the players that this special gear protects them when it doesn't, so players keep playing rough thus entertaining and the public stays quiet while hundreds of young, often poor and non-white men are used for profit while being afflicted by profound, horrific brain and body damage all the fucking time until it kills them.
The short answer, you having to ask means sadly the NFL's lies and propaganda have worked exactly as they're intended to. It looks safe, so therefore it is safe. Even if it really isn't. No shade for falling for it tho, they spend a LOT of money convincing the public that American Football is safe when short of boxing and free climbing it's probably the most dangerous sport that currently exists and it truly should not be played at all in it's current form.
Saying I've fallen to propaganda for something I don't even have access watch is a stretch but okay-
But yeah, that seems fair I guess
I guess I just got confused because apparently you guys don't crawl on top of eachother ala speckies and marks from what I'm told
That's fair, but the general perception that it's safe is indeed a major part of the NFL's bullshit. I don't think they purposefully launch each other into the air but American Football is absolutely a full contact sport where people collide at ridiculous speeds. If you've never seen it played tho it makes sense to think the padding makes you safe, but this should give you a good idea of how not at all safe this is.
Sorry bout that! Though I sure wonder why the NFL is the one that blocked that video. They do not want people to know.
These are as graphic as I'll risk posting, a quick google of "football hard hits" shows a lot of gifs like this, but maybe don't look if you're squemish. I can assure everyone, there is no amount of padding short of being inside a vehicle with crumple zones and airbags that can save you from this.
Also there was a football player with CTE that killed himself by shooting himself in the chest so that the the NFL couldn't hide what they'd done to him, said so in his note. CTE can only be properly diagnosed postmortem, and if his brain was destroyed they wouldn't be able to prove what he had and use his brain to better understand the condition.
Deeply bleak shit!! As the comment explains:
I cannot stress enough, the padding is an illusion, they'd be just as hurt without it. It does nothing, not really.
There's actually evidence the padding makes things worse by giving the players a false sense of security, which encourages them to act more recklessly. Rugby, the most similar European cousin to this sport, is perceived as more obviously brutal- and indeed, rugby has higher concussion rates than American football. But it has much lower CTE rates (and also, as far as I can tell, DRAMATICALLY lower rates of teenage athletes being killed on the fucking field during games, lmao) because when your head is exposed, you tend to be more careful with it.
You also see CTE in professional boxers, and, fun fact, traumatic brain injuries became much more common once boxing stopped being a bare-knuckle sport, because people are way more likely to hit eachother in the face when you give them huge padded gloves.
It's even more insidious though, because those huge, horrific collisions? Those aren't even what causes CTE. They're dangerous, even deadly, but CTE is a chronic condition. It's caused by FREQUENT impacts over time, and you can get it without ever having a concussion. Even minor impacts can cause brain trauma if your head experiences a rapid change in kinetic force.
sanatoriums, psychiatric hospitals, and lunatic asylums still exist btw, theyre just called psychiatric centers now. isnt it such a modern and progressive concept to imprison that schizophrenic/autistic/suicidal/anorexic/bipolar/etc. person in a strange space where theyre treated as subhuman, not allowed control over their own body or activities, disallowed contact with loved ones or the outside world, and not comfortable or safe whatsoever? and for long periods of time? or potentially forever?
