I thought it was Sara too but it could be Cora. I really want a VERY good explanation as to why Cora isn’t the new Pathfinder, so I’m hoping this is linked to this and it will be explained in such a way that we end up going “oh okay, alright, she really can’t be Pathfinder in those conditions”

A friend of mine is writing a fanfiction and her character gets MPD through being exposed to what's basically "fear gas." Is this possible, and how would that manifest and look? She's writing his other personality (I'm so sorry, I'm terrible with getting the terms right :\) as being basically evil - is this common? She's basically ripping off a plot from Teen Wolf but idk how well that's written and I haven't seen it personally so

First off, it’s not called MPD, it’s dissociative identity disorder (DID) (See my post here).

Secondly, DID is caused by extensive, severe, long-term abuse experienced in childhood. We’re talking years and years of extreme physical/sexual abuse (typically). A single traumatic event (being exposed to “fear gas”) can be psychologically devastating, but it is not enough on its own to cause DID.

That is not to say what you’re describing is entirely impossible. If the character had experienced the long-term abuse mentioned earlier and had already developed the disorder, it is possible that DID symptoms could worsen/become extremely noticeable and pronounced in response to an intense stressor such as the “fear gas.” 

It’s also worthwhile to note that typically people with DID have more than one alter. Also, contrary to Hollywood’s perception, the majority of alters are not “evil”. Alters can serve a variety of purposes in the character’s psyche.

This is what Mark Waid does. And why I don’t trust him or Archie Comics until they get a writer who can spare us a fucking tweet saying “Don’t worry, he’s still aro ace.” Erica (an old artist/writer?) didn’t tweet a lot about asexuality but without prompt has tweeted this:

I trust Erica, but I’m done giving people and media companies my time if they can’t do the bare minimum. Someone compared this whole Archie Comics to a queerbait as switch. And I’m not saying this the worst thing in the word, but that feels really accurate. They made an effort, we showed, and now they are like cool so we ignore you again?

Yes, so people can see her better. Don’t thank me, it’s my duty, my mission to make people realize how magnificent she is.

peebee's a "rogue academic," right? do you think it's referring to her being a rogue type, or rogue as in she left? i mean, the "academic" part is pretty clear, referring to schools and stuff.

What would it mean to be a rogue academic if rogue is connected to academic? Doesn’t obey the rules - in connection to academic it means she’s no longer playing by the rules other academics do? Perhaps she does unethical things to find answers to her research? 

It’s possible, but I read “rogue” as in connected to her role in the Ark - so to me it’s “rogue” + “academic” and not “rogue academic”
