Big Words Video 34.1: Greg Lamberson-‘Fun Bags’
Coming hot off the heels of the runaway success of ‘Killer Rack’ and toiling away at post-production on ‘Johnny Gruesome’, I wasn’t sure what kind of Bonus clip guest Greg Lamberson cooked up. He didn’t disappoint. What follows is the musical sequence for the song ‘Fun Bags’ from the aforementioned ‘Killer Rack’ featuring Troma legend Lloyd Kauffman. Fun fact: I interviewed Kauffman while he…

Rapid Fire: Interview With Brian Azzarello from If They Can’t Take A Joke (2007, Authorhouse)
Author’s Note: A few lifetimes ago (before I started hosting my own podcast, then talk show), I conducted print interviews. A lot of them. Azzarello’s interview was green-lighted by ArtVoice, ran in Acid Logic and got reprinted for my fourth book If They Can’t Take A Joke. After getting a little bit of blowback from my Frank Miller rant (which, admittedly, was a bit raw and childish, but that…

Cover to “Last Kind Words: 1926-1953″, a compilation of early Delta Blues Artwork by Chris Johanson Note 1: I originally picked up this record as a fan of blues from this era and region (”Last Kind Words” being one of my favorite songs), but it wasn’t until I took THeories of Art Practice that I was introduced to Chris Johanson’s work. Long story short, even happier to own this record now. Note 2: This image does not do the piece justice, since it’s hard to make out what is written in the speech bubbles. Some bubbles are lyrics to songs featured on the record, others are Johanson’s usual acid-based wisdom. Here are some examples: “Don’t let nobody turn you around” “No kind words no where” “Money can’t buy your soul” “Death is only a dream” “I am like some kind of log rolling” “Salvation” “Cat or is it a fish I don’t know what the hells going on anymore” “It is hard to leave you” “I’m going” “I see you” ...and many more
