Starter for @fluff-of-yarn

It had been a few years since Acidt had moved to Patchland with Prince Fluff, long enough for him to miss his days back in the woods. It was a peaceful, although busy and adventurous life, with no expectation to find a mate. There was no talk of topics that made him uncomfortable, and he had found a purpose in his life. He enjoyed life with Prince Fluff and the stories they shared. Sometimes, those stories made him miss the good parts of living with a tight-knit supportive family. Conversations on a cell phone just didn’t compare to the real thing. 

As usual, Acidt got up early to do his daily chores, taking as much time as he needed to freshen up. He was obsessed with being clean and orderly, making sure nothing got stuck in his fur and his teeth stayed white. But something was different this time around. 

Acidt felt different looking in the mirror. The red eyes he and his older brother Markey had looked brighter and more ominous. In Dreamlanders red eyes never meant anything good, which made school awkward for him and his siblings. 

He remembered some kids at school asking what ‘wrong’ with him and his siblings’ eyes. How difficult it was explaining that he had two fathers, and that it came from Mirror Marx’s side. 

He remembered being told Marx didn’t have a raunchy mind until “after he matured”. Nobody’s mind every changes that quickly... not without some eldritch influences. But you can’t pass that onto your kids, could you? Neither of Meira’s kids inherited her parasite, after all. 

Still, he didn’t miss Marx’s perverted jokes. The thought of him eventually becoming foul-minded and obsessed with impure thoughts made him nauseous. Was his dad like him when he was his age? He never got to ask, and they were supposed to be visiting sometime today. 

He turned and ran into the bathroom, his nausea coming up to meet him loud enough to wake his neighbor.

An attempt was made to get a headstart on a sideproject having to do with drawing all of Marx and Meira’s kids digitally. But of course, that went on the backburner. 

I drew Acidt back in March during Spring Break. This one took me around 6-7 hours to finish.

Prince Fluff laid back against the green fields of Grass Land, sighing as he gazed up at the sky. He was wondering when Marx would return: the jester said he would introduce the prince to both his fiancée and one of his kids. But when would that be? Shortly after their discussion, MS had teleported back to Dream Land, leaving the yarn boy in a state of both intrigue and suspense. He could only hope the jester would return shortly. Despite his weird personality, he had enjoyed the company.

Not long after he’d left, Marx immediately arranged for Acidt to move out; Meira took a day off work to make sure her stepson got there in one piece. They packed with him some food and some clothes in case he got cold, as they were in a rush.

It wasn’t much longer before a small hole appeared in the sky as the three arrived to Patchland, Meira carrying her small son in her arms. In a moment, the undead jester touched down nearby where Prince Fluff was laying down, still acclimating himself to the new environment. Meira didn’t seem to mind at all, circling closer to the ground before dipping down to where her soon-to-be husband and his new friend was.

“Welcome back, Meira! Didn’t think you’d ever touch the ground.” Marx jokingly said before proceeding to introduce her and Acidt to the Prince of Patchland. 

“Oh.. hello, Prince Fluff,” Acidt said shyly, curling up in Meira arms. “My dad said this is where I’m gonna live now.”

Meira sat down in the grass, bringing her legs underneath her and loosening her grip on her son, allowing him to hop down and move a bit closer to Fluff. It was going to be a mission getting him to open up, with or without their help. Same for Meira, as she did her best to look as if nothing was wrong.

“Technically, the whole family are hybrids, but that Mina’s something special,” Markey responded. “She was rescued from a lab where men experimented on her. For like fifteen years.”

“That’s probably why she lost her ears…” Acidt added in, keeping a safe distance from Markey. “Either that or they got really tiny.”

“We sleep a ton as babies but as we get older we don’t need sleep as much,” Finichi spoke up from on top of the couch. “Most of us only sleep out of boredom or for comfort. I guess we’re a subspecies, and I blame my dad for allowing more of us to exist… Just kidding.”

1. What is your name? Acidt

2. What is your real name? Acidt. Why would I lie?

3. Do you know why you were called that? My dads thought it was cool. The ‘d’ is silent.

4. Are you single or taken? I’m a teen... why would I be taken?

5. Have any abilities or powers? I can summon vines and fire arrows like my dad, but the roses attached have silver trimmings on them for some reason. I’m still young, so I might get better stuff later.

6. Stop being a Mary Sue. Hush your mouth!

7. What’s your eye color? It’s... wierd. My left eye is yellow and orange but my right eyes is black and orange. Mirror’s eyes are like that, too, just with red and not orange.

8. How about your hair color? Purple, if you couldn’t already tell. My whole family has purple hair except for Shibana.

9. Have you any family members? For some reason I have two dads, but Marx told me I spawned off of him. Mirror Marx is my ‘mother’, I guess you could say. I’d say Meira’s my step-mother and Mina’s my aunt. I have like four siblings-Finichi, Markey, Shibana and Roxy. Two of them are jerks to me and the others are babies.

10. Oh? What about pets? My family has two pet Blue Viruses. They don’t really do much, but I wait until winter comes around.

11. That’s cool I guess, now tell me about something you don’t like. Finichi and Markey really don’t treat me well. Mostly Markey. They purposely go out to town to get away from me. I don’t mind watching over the babies while Meira and Marx are out, and at least they’re honest about why their going out.

12. Do you have any hobbies/activities you like doing? Sometimes I sneak potions out of Meira’s cabinet and test them out on Waddle Dees in the forest. Usually it ends up either ridiculous or horrifying. But I don’t have many options when I have noting better to do.

13. Ever hurt anyone before? Sometimes the potions cause harm to the Dees, but I never meant it.

14. Ever… killed anyone before? No. It’s usually Mina or Marx that go out hunting to bring back meat, and they make sure I’m inside so I don’t see it on accident.

15. What kind of animal are you? A Noddy. Normally we just sleep alot, and I for one like doing so in the laundry room. It’s very warm in there.

16. Name your worst habits. I groom myself alot, as some people have pointed out. I just don’t like anything being out of place or unclean. 

17. Do you look up to anyone at all? Marx, Finichi to an extent, Meira, Mina... Mirror.

18. Gay, straight, or bisexual? Why does a stranger want to know my sexuality? That’s sick! (likely straight)

19. Do you go to school? Yes. I try to stay afterschool as much as possible.

20. Do you ever want to marry and have kids one day? Hell no! I have enough children to deal with as it is!

21. Do you have any fanboys/fangirls? No... and if I do they should stay a hundred miles away from me.

22. What are you most afraid of? I wouldn’t know because I’m always in the damn woods!

23. What do you usually wear? Sometimes my dad’s amulet, but it’s very loose on me, and a bit heavy. I might get myself a jester hat like him, with bells and whatnot.

24. Do you love someone? Romantically, not a damn soul. I do love my elders, though, and the little babies.

25. When was the last time you wet yourself? Go away. If this is all you’re going to ask, just leave.

27. What class are you?(High class, middle class, low class) I guess middle class. I live under the same roof as Meira, so yeah.

29. What are your thoughts on pie? Depends on who’s making it. I don’t care much for sweets.

30. Favorite drink? Eggnog! Even the store-bought version is really good.

31. What’s your favorite place? Now you’re just being a a jack ass.

Acidt was curled up next to Aunt Meira, wrapping strands of her silken purple hair around him. He wasn’t going to stay for much longer, a few months tops after Shibana and Roxy were old enough to take care of themselves, so he wanted to bond with the one person who could sympathize with him.

“Meira, I need to know something. You’re very protective of us, but I’m not even yours, and neither are Finichi or Markey. Why?”

“You all live under the same house, in the same woods, so you’re all part of the family. We all have to help eachother so no one’s getting left out or ignored, so don’t ever feel that way. Maybe your siblings just want some time to themselves and that’s okay. Sometimes Marx goes outside to... ‘relieve himself’ but he’s never gone long.”

“I know, but... you’re different. Everyone here is a Noddy besides Kaliibri, Jhinni and you. Don’t you have a family to call your own?”

“....I do. I have my mother, my uncle, and my grandmother. They just aren’t here on Popstar.”

“Where are they, then? Don’t you miss them?”

“They’re back on a planet called Earth, where I was originally raised. One day I got sick of all the drama, war, and injustice there and had to leave-I just couldn’t take it anymore. But I fled too soon, barely getting a chance to say goodbye. After spending so much of my life slaying monsters and protecting my family, it was the most cowardly thing I’d ever done.”

“....How could you do such a thing?”

“I don’t know, Acidt! But ever since I arrived not a day goes by that I don’t miss them. And I won’t have you do the same thing. You can leave the forest to explore, but don’ forget to return. I might go back after some time, but not anytime soon. Just relax, and don’t let their selfishness bother you.”
