Blathers is so sleepy that even animals who sit near him also fall asleep.
After many days of sending Gulliver on three trips a day, I FINALLY got the fifth pink villager, Pinky. I noticed that she was a different theme than the other new pink villagers, so I wonder if it’s common for her to be found last. Wouldn’t be hard to find out, but I won’t bother.
By this point, Truffles was already level 10! That’s how long this took. It’s ridiculous. But hey, I gained a level, too, so I can only complain so much.
I’ve been getting a lot of these animal treasure maps, which I can’t possibly explain in any way other than that these animals are locked in treasure chests, and all five of the new ones are either Normal or Peppy, and all five are cute-themed. I had over 950 cute essences before doing the first treasure hunt. I have used nearly 300 of them running through the maps. It is incredible to me. I’m sure I’ll get it all back just because I’m going to have five cute-themed animals at my campsite for WEEKS, but still.
There are new animals available from Gulliver’s maps, which still makes no more sense than it ever did, and so it’s time again to start cranking out minimalist lamps as quickly as possible so that I can give ten at a time to Gulliver. See, giving him ten of the same item guarantees a “Bonus” item, which can be a generic snack or an animal’s map. The first map I got was for Truffles, and for the low cost of 66 cute essences, I unlocked the ability to invite her to my campsite. The first time I spoke with her, she reacted as though I was inviting her back to my campsite for the second or third time. I didn’t get it, and I never will, and that’s just something I have to live with.
I know I already made this joke with Teddy, but Christ, this really bugs me something fierce. I “found” Annabelle? Was she lost? Was she hidden away somewhere by ancient Aztecs? And Gulliver found one of their hidden treasure maps, and Blathers followed it to a locked chest deep in the jungle where Annabelle was being held in some kind of stasis, unaging, unable to truly live or die? And now I can invite her to my campsite?
This raises so many questions and I hate it even more than I hate how stupidly expensive it is to run these maps.
