Some more late-night (in my case, early-morning) cats with animals at various locations around the campsite.

In real life, I sleep best in absolute silence, but that’s literally impossible at my current house, so I sleep with a fan on instead. That might sound completely contradictory, but the idea is that having a small amount of noise that’s loud enough to drown out things like my furnace kicking on, the sump pump pipe pushing out water, outdoor car sounds, and anything else that might be going on outside is better than NOT having that and instead having to deal with all those little noises as they pop up.

I was once roommates with a guy who slept with earplugs in. I sometimes wonder if that’s a viable option.

For reasons I don’t want to get into, I had to be awake at 2:30 AM on Sunday for a conference call for my job. I was able to do it from home, though, so, naturally, I was playing Animal Crossing at the same time. I think it’s probably the second time I’ve talked to animals at that late hour, so here you are, this is the kind of thing that they said. Teddy started off by shouting “BOOYAH!”, in case you were wondering what his emergency-response system is.

Ignoring the strange response I can give to this statement about the stars (”What do you want?”), I just wanted to focus on the idea that Paolo seems to be implying that there was a chance that the stars might NOT be as bright as ever. Like he was worried that they might get duller from one day to the other. Maybe he thinks there’s a supervillain out there sucking up the luminescence from the sky. Or he thinks that pollution will suddenly skyrocket and block them out. That might happen, but God I hope it doesn’t happen any time soon.

Paolo enjoying a horrible nightmare in a comfy hammock. He wanted to eat a lot of food, but then it turned out to be too much food, and as we all know, too much of a good thing is a bad thing, which is why it’s called “too much.” If it were still a good thing, it wouldn’t be “too much,” it would just be “more than expected but still an acceptable amount.” Think about it.

Paolo’s default shirt makes me think he’s wearing a tiny little shirt with a skirt under it that strongly emphasizes his big belly, which is not a look I would personally want to try to rock. Still, I’m not the sort of person who likes telling other people what they should or shouldn’t wear, so I wouldn’t dare agree that he’s “not the best” at dressing himself. Keep it up, big man.

Also, give me more gifts. I didn’t not help you because I wanted you to not help me!

Some Valentine’s Day commentary:

Agnes made salty chocolate for her friends and hopes they don’t notice it.

Opal wants me to give her chocolate, but won’t admit to it, so she wants me to just do it while she can deny having asked.

Chief wants chocolate and is totally fine with asking for it.

Paolo wants to eat a “heedless” amount of chocolate.

With dialogue skipping and Pete’s deliveries, I imagine there might be some people out there who might like to see the special dialogue that animals have if you give them non-local fruit. So here’s a couple of those! Just for you!
