@acrimoniious // field trip
He normally managed to sneak away or otherwise opt out of skool field trips, but through no fault of his own he had gotten roped along onto this especially horrible recreational activity when GIR had failed to send the Roboparents to retrieve him from skool on time. He had to sit on that disgusting overfilled bus, shoved between two sweaty, over sized children in a seat that was barely big enough to hold two Urth children, and that was just the beginning of it. For the rest of the day, all of the skool children were to do what Ms. Bitters had referred to as “community service.”
Three grueling hours in the hot Urth sun, picking up garbage, all to teach them some kind of “responsibility.” If Zim had wanted to participate in menial labor he would have simply stayed on Foodcourtia. The only solace for him on this scorching, cloudless day was that nothing could happen that would possibly make this day any worse. Of course, that’s what he had thought before a second skoolbus pulled up, releasing another hoard of children into the revolting, trash filled human park.
Zim didn’t recognize any of this children, coming to the conclusion that they were from another skool entirely until he spotted a familiar face in the crowd. It only took him a moment before he was screaming at her-
“TAK! What are YOU doing here, you- you-” He cut himself off with a series of frustrated noises that he couldn’t verbalize into actual words before noticing a few confused and judgmental glances from his fellow classmates. That’s right... The last time any of the children from skool saw Tak, Zim had been trying to court her in an attempt to learn about human romance. If he approached her with such aggression, they might think something was off. Zim cleared his throat, forcing a painful smile onto his face as he started over. “I mean, eh, hello there, Tak, my... NON disgusting love-pig who I definitely love and do NOT despise in any way.”
