The Continental (2023)
🎬The Continental explores the origin behind the iconic hotel-for-assassins centerpiece of the John Wick universe through the eyes and actions of a young Winston Scott, as he's dragged into the hell-scape of 1970's New York City to face a past he thought he'd left behind. Winston charts a deadly course through the hotel's mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the hotel where he will eventually take his throne.
📝I am someone who hasn't really gotten into John Wick. The last one I saw left me with a headache but I decided to check it out to see if this was better and I enjoyed it. It kind of gives a background story and compared with the movies actually has a bit of a plot that makes sense and it wasn't as much of mindless killings as the film. It also has a killer soundtrack (no pun intended). Check it out if you like John Wick and even if you didn't like it. Perhaps this will help make you understand what this whole Continental business is all about!
The Show That Ended a Genre
A look at the 1988 series Shoujo Commando Izumi, a show about a teenage girl who after being accused of a crime she didn’t commit, falls into the ocean and is presumed dead by the cops... Only for her to actually get kidnapped by a shadowy organisation, who use a combination of hypnosis and exploding obstacle courses to become the ultimate assassin. After she escapes these guys though, the bad guys’ attempts to capture her are thwarted by the fact that she now not only absurdly good at fighting with both weapons and martial arts, but her training enables her to use biofeedback to punch through doors and things.
Not gonna lie, this show actually sounds pretty boss! Also, as a Cass Cain fan having an unstoppable protagonist shouldn’t really lessen the drama if you handle the story correctly. Have her face other non-fighting challenges (trying to clear her name for example) or if you want to have a fun fight scene, have them introduce a villainous girl who underwent the same training/brainwashing.
Admittedly from how it sounds from the video it was more of a budgetry thing as to why it kind of got lazy with the plotting, but from the core premise alone there’s a TON of interesting and cool things you could do with this story!
I want an action show (I'm weak for cartoons, but this applies to anything, really) with a female character who usually dresses in comfortable, baggy clothes to get a She Cleans Up Nicely moment. But while her partners/friends are awestruck by the "transformation" she just scoffs and goes, "Guys, I already know I'm pretty. No matter what I wear. I'm just not going to wear high heels when we spend 90% of our time running."
Maybe it's because it's my idea, but it would be much more realistic and believable than all those fighter girls who wear killer heels to battles. As much as I love them, unless you turn the shoe into an actual killer heel, don't try to sell me that nonsense.

It’s all calypso 🤔🤭lol
This is my ideal Cartoon Network schedule this week (MON 12/4 TO SUN 12/10).
Some changes to briefly mention:
1. Action shows have their own block on weekends from 6am to 9am, starring classic and recent action shows like Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, Generator Rex and (gasp) Sym-Bionic Titan. Along with that are more reruns of the classic Ben 10 and the recent Transformers and Justice League Action.
2. Christmas specials from third-party shows like Dragons, Kung Fu Panda and Madagascar which last aired on CN in 2014/15. Well, Disney and Freeform haven’t got the rights to those specials as far as I know, so it looks like the best fit (and only specials actually, given Disney’s super stash of specials) for the network this Christmas.
3. Christmas specials from on-running shows like Adventure Time (”The More You Moe”), Regular Show (”The Christmas Special”, “Christmas in Space”) and also Steven Universe (”Winter Forecast”, “Maximum Capacity” from technically New Year, and “Three Gems and a Baby”). The collated specials that CN is actually doing for Gumball, We Bare Bears and Teen Titans Go also get spaces on the schedule.
Also, I've created a poll on the best of cartoons and its networks in 2017! It's a short one, hope you can fill it in! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1tLY-yYXietlgbKq5tLj2N0ibP-AZSPV0vLJPRnCahF0
