I don’t know if anyone will read this but please go watch ‘the runarounds’ on prime video. I can’t have another good show get cancelled after only one season because those fuckers at Amazon can’t do their job at promoting their actually great products (my lady Jane I still think about you).
Back to ‘the runarounds’:
- the characters are all well flashed out from episode 1 and the actors are all pulling their weight.
- this show’s got a killer soundtrack, rock songs of all ages that make you wanna scream and dance your heart out. The original songs are also really cool.
- I also enjoyed the out of time feeling the series gives you, for half of ep 1 I thought it was set in the 90s but then iphones are shown and you realise it’s actually set in present day. However the presence of modern day technology is not overbearing and the characters don’t excessively rely on it.
- another thing I thoroughly liked is the fact that these characters feel genuine. You can feel the strive, the yearning, the will to risk everything to achieve their dreams and the slight fear in the back of their minds that it might all blow up in their faces.
In conclusion, if you’re in need of something to watch give this show a chance I promise you won’t regret it.🩵
