ay yeah the spiral obviously represents deception and lies which is pretty clear cut but the way ive always interpreted the slaughter is as a manifestation of the idea that at humanitys center there is a base desire for violence (which i dont personally think is true in the real world but the slaughter sort of Makes it true in certain instances) which translates into the idea of violence as an inescapable instinct or a “core truth” of humanity (the idea of any sort of baseline inherent fact in general being in opposition to the spiral) the way most slaughter statements talk about war is undeniably in a negative manner but also in a sort of resigned one as well? the sentiment of “violence is terrible but enough monsters exist to revel in it that it becomes an unavoidable fact of existence” is one that directly contradicts the spirals sentiment of “nothing is set in stone and everything that has the ability to lie to you is actively doing so” tl;dr if the spiral represents evasiveness and lies the slaughter represents unescapable and violent truth
