idk whoever needs to hear this but I am sincerely hoping that this incident with Ji Soo will serve as a reminder for all: DRAW THE LINE.
FANS SEE ONLY WHAT THE ARTISTS AND THE AGENCIES WANT FANS TO SEE.
We don't know who they really are. It's so easy to lose ourselves in the content they produce, in how good they look, in how well they carry their clothes and whatnot. The truth is, Ji Soo is highly likely to be one of the many. Besides, it’s the entertainment industry. There are a lot of things happening behind the scenes and under the table.
Please don’t let their “I love my fans, I owe them everything” speeches fool you into investing your life in them. Please don’t let their benevolent, charity and professional activities drive feed an (arguably) (unhealthy) obsession. And please, I genuinely hope you will not waste so much of your time/energy when something bad happens to their career. I genuinely hope that you won’t be affected too much, that you are rendered unable to function when something happens to the ratings of their show or the promotion of their projects. At the end of the day, it is still their career, not yours. You don’t own them just as much as they do not own you. That is their life, and I genuinely hope that you remember that you have yours.
So please, don't invest your life on someone else. Do not let them own you. Do not let them eat up your time, until you have none left for yourself and the people you care for (in real life).
No matter how open they are or how honest/sincere they sound, DRAW THE LINE, please.
Prioritize yourself first. Chase after your own dreams. YOU MATTER MOST.
