Adam Pratt — You, S04E04
Part 2 of Season 4 of YOU is FINALLY put. I have no idea why on earth Netflix chose to split the show up but whatever.
Anyways......
I loved it!! They really committed to doing something different this season and I think it was the right choice. This season was a mix of a whodunnit/murder mystery as well as an unrelatable narrator aspect that culminates in a plot twist that was done very well despite being done before (think Fight Club and Mr Robot)
My favorite thing about this season was probably the repeated reminders that super rich people are absolutely garbage and almost entirely unreedemable - being part of the 1% makes you a garbage person. And yes that of course includes Kate Galvin who deludes herself into thinking that she's better than the rest of the group
Phoebe was the only rich person who showed any growth (even though she gets a huge side eye from me for even being friends with Gemma and Simon in the first place - btw I'm super glad that those 2 died). Her dating Adam was supremely ick but we got the hilarious side story of his Golden Shower fetish 😂. Roald sucked ass but turns out he was right after all lol, who woulda thunk it?
My heart is broken for Nadia and especially Eddie who didn't even know what he was getting roped into. Don't you hate it when characters can't mind their business and then they get endangered? Marienne beats the odds and becomes the only adult woman to get entangled with Joe and not die....congrats to her haha
And if course the biggest thing - murderous Rhys being "you know who" instead......girl I was shook!! Didn't see it coming at all
Basically I really enjoyed this season of the show and we talk about it in our newest video!! Please watch and let us know if you agree or disagree in the comments (I really wanna know what people thought about the season because I haven't seen a lot of people talking about it)
Side note - please ignore the fact that we filmed this episode seperately....it won't be happening again lol

Relationships: Joe Goldberg/Rhys Montrose
Summary: Despite his concern, Joe went to the party Rhys invited him to.
[I knew it. I shouldn’t have come. That was a huge mistake.] Ignoring his growing apprehension, Joe walked towards the luxurious building. He carefully snuck between the fancy cars stuck in the tight street. Whenever a random white couple got out of one of the Teslas, Lamborghinis, or Porsches in a single file, a shower of paparazzi would rain down on them before a bunch of bodyguards firmly pushed them aside. Once safely escorted to the red carpet, those distinguished people — or show-offs, if you asked Joe — would walk up the stairs leading to the hotel complex, stopping every two steps to pose for the photographers. Blending in with them, the bookstore manager took the time to observe the connections of his previous client. He came to the conclusion that they were [just a bunch of daddy’s boys and privileged girls], before eventually giving them the benefit of the doubt. After all, Rhys was one of them and, despite his overconfidence, he seemed to have his head on his shoulders.
At that thought, Joe could not restrain a smile, remembering every dubious pickup line his host had said to him less than 24 hours ago. [Am I really that cheesy?] The question would stay unanswered for the moment. The brown man forced his way through the crowd of paparazzi to climb the stairs in a corner far from the cameras. As soon as he set a foot in, a bouncer blocked his way.
“Name.”
[Don’t tell me they privatize a whole hotel just for a party.]
“I have a friend insi..”
“Name.”
[Ok, prick.]
“Um. Joe, Goldberg.”
The man turned a few pages of his list. After what seemed like an eternity, he looked down at the guest before he cleared the road without a word. Joe entered in disbelief. He would have ruminated over this ten-second encounter if it was not for his obsessive focus on details: his full name was on the list, which meant Rhys Montrose had the presence of mind to let the party planners know about his potential venue. His presence was expected. His presence was wanted. This simple realization filled Joe with contentment. [I really am that cheesy.] While bellhops guided him through the various hallways of the huge building, the bookseller had to bite the inside of his cheek to not grin. Soon, he found himself ascending to the top floor along with public figures as rich as each other in a — ridiculously — large elevator. Still under the spell of Rhys Montrose, Joe paid no attention to the disdainful, degrading, and despicable chatter of the guests. Maybe if he had listened to their expectations on the evening, the view would have been more bearable. Instead, the brown man froze when the elevator doors opened.
[Oh, kill me.] Joe had never seen so many disinhibited people in one place and the party had just started. At every corner of the room, waiters were religiously pouring champagne into the glasses of their drunk hosts as soon as they were emptied. Collapsing on couches, partygoers were either passing out or getting high on space cakes. In the darkest spots, people were eagerly exchanging saliva when they were not speaking loudly about their last purchase, displaying their wealth to a jealous audience. [So there we have them all: the seven deadly sins. Did I actually die when I meet Rhys and ended up in hell?]
As the elevator doors closed before his eyes, the last thing Joe saw was a blond woman spanking a poor waiter who dropped his tray in confusion.
