Adam Meets Forrest for the First Time (drafts)

Working on a lil somethin' somethin' and wanted to share it.

Adam definitely wasn't planning to smile for real in front of Sirius, or anyone for that matter, but Forrest broke down that wall without even trying.

Taking the time to acknowledge some really good improvement in my art. Using YOU and HIM as an example since it's more recent in my folders and I have stuff to compare it to.

Did a panel redraw of a manga I was reading recently for practice, and it’s turning out really good! Consistency could use a little work, but that’s why we practice!

Debating between coloring it normally, or attempting a grayscale like in the manga, but it was perfect for Adam and Si.

Adam proposed to his Angel while building a snowman together. The first time they saw snow as a couple, they weren’t able to play in it together due to being busy with a stressful situation. By the time they bought a house together in Tennessee, Adam’s plan was set in stone, all he had to do was wait for the snow to come and pile up. Before going out, they did their normal routine: he woke Si up (a feat that usually took 5 extra minutes of sleep and coaxing with kisses), made them both breakfast, and surprised Si with the sight of fresh snow as the sun rose. He let Si build the face and body, waiting until he was fully distracted and the finishing touches were perfect, before getting down on one knee and proposing. Si tackled him with an immediate yes.

Adam would do it all over again just to see the smile on Si’s face that day, but he’ll settle for all the smiles Si gives him in the future, especially the ones he gives Adam when they recreate the moment every winter going forward.

Since I’m reworking Adam and Si’s game adjacent au fanfic I figured I’d share some angst from the early writing that I never posted about:

Tw Death and blood

(also small note some of this is getting reworked to flow better, ie Si KNOWING it is Adam without having to look at his diary- that part was there more so that Adam could see it and remember who Si was):

While Adam is chasing Si after the highway incident, Si ends up (knowing that it’s a stupid idea) running to his apartment to grab his diary to confirm that it’s *actually* his childhood friend and first love that tried to kill him. He’s managed about a week or two in evading both Adam and Saffron, but his shoulder injury is catching up to him to the point that he’s showing the signs of blood poisoning. By the time he confirms it by finding the childhood photo of Adam that they exchanged during a Sunday school picture day, Adam has already caught up with him. In the version that I wrote, Adam finds him struggling to breathe in his attic.

In the “bad end” version Si tries jumping from patio to patio, decently high off the ground since his apartment is on the middle floors. If he ran out there, he’d be able to clear the first jump, but no one’s home. By the time Adam reads the diary, recognizes Si, and goes looking for him, Si’s gearing up to try and jump again before the light headedness and fever catches up to him. Adam calls out, Si hears him and panics not knowing that Adam isn’t going to kill him now, and falls to his death with Adam watching- which would have utterly destroyed Adam.

Not only because he actively watched one of the few people he actually cared about with good memories attached to his childhood die in front of him again, but because HE caused this, and now he can never make up for the biggest mistake in his life. His past memories of Si’s laugh and smile would be replaced with the pain, the hurt, the fear in his eyes as Si fell out of his grasp once more, and the cold, clammy feeling of his blood on his hands for the rest of his life.

And that would kill any and all humanity left in Adam Gaudin.
