Orion's bow 💫✨🌠
The limp hands of this
December sky have choked out
The stars, bow unstrung
ashes rising
a cold mist passes slowly through
clothes soaked
hands in pockets
] embers & ashes would rise
] forming new constellations
] if it were not for all of this
rain
Prompt: Lizards everywhere
There are lots of secrets that aren't secret Like how dinosaurs are murder birds With hugey RAWS and clawed feet But but but lots of people have not heard: Dinosaurs are totally reptiles with feathers So every chicken that stares Is jaysome and so very clever Cuz they know there are lizards everywhere! They are adamant about being cute And sometimes in human skin suits!
Snake by the edge of a lake
Our
gaze is
captured
by the
woven
current
of
curving
glistening
earthbands
as they
slide
through
an un-
broken
body of
water-
drops
just
beneath
a mudshelf
of iguana-
green
grass
at the
fringe
of a
Spirit’s
smile.

all these elements (rather, love)
Air \
My hands touch the night when birds pass. The dawn drinks tea and my wisdom comes from the dust on bookshelves because I’m busy meditating to music. There is joy in the world around.
Fire \
My hair only curls under heat. I’ve been playing with dogs on the road and the adventure rips my jeans. But strangers frighten me. I have always wanted to taste sushi in the summer while the radio plays Dead Man’s Curve.
Water \
London triggered a lure of cities. These seven piercings aren’t enough. Poetry is best read when the flash of lightning electrifies my window and thunder causes the foundation to revolt. I will love now and travel the globe when emotions colour my words.
Earth \
Meat is unappetizing unless it comes from the sea. Listen to the music of the mountains instead because they trust me. Value becomes me. And I believe. In love.
Aether \
I am covered in paint, tracking true north by the compass rose on my right foot. I fear the smiles of strangers. Wait. Stop. Crocus and Wild Hyacinth bloom me. I love.

You always come up with the best prompts. They are so provocative and seemingly random. That is to say, I greatly enjoy them, even though I usually dislike prompts in general. Do you think you'll be doing more prompts on @refinegodliness in the near future?
I must admit that I do feel a little pressure to uphold the standards now you said they’re provocative and seemingly random, that being said the randomness can be easily assured. Now. A new prompt. I always think the ‘poetry game’ is most fun, because it shows how poetical minds work in different ways. Besides, it’s a game that allows people who don’t usually write to take a jab at poetry. That being said, onto the formalities. The rules are as follows:
Write an eleven line poem. Each respective line includes, or is bound, but not limited to, the following in order:
1. cannot start with “I”2. a name 3. a medieval tool or means of torture 4. a question 5. a natural phenomenon 6. a polytheistic deity7. any part of the internal physical being8. an emotion9. a precious metal10. write whatever comes to mind11. must start with “I”
The deadline will be February 1st. Tag your poem #promptlyrefined and I’ll make sure to reblog it. Be sure to use the tag #promptlyrefined in one of the first five tags accompanying your poem. If your work isn’t reblogged within 48 hours, please let me know.
