Twenty years apart. The first, I had just graduated from college and had my first job, but no structure. I had started to spin out, but I didn’t know why. 6 years later I would be diagnosed with Bipolar disorder. But it would be another 4 before, I found the right meds and finally be stable. The Counting Crows served as the soundtrack of my life from 1994 on, they helped through so much. They literally saved my life.

Then around 2009, this goofy, curly haired girl in cowboy boots, a decade after I had first started to spin out started singing about things I hadn’t been able to put into words as well. I now had two artists that could put my feelings into words like no other. She saved my life, when I didn’t know it still needed saving. She gave me the words to get through therapy and become a stronger person. And now twenty years later the 2nd artist, @taylorswift has written about memories and ghosts.

Thank you both for giving words to my feelings and quite literally saving my life.
