Asteroid Fama in your Birth chart
Quick background about the asteroid Fama (408)
Fama actually derives from Roman mythology and was represented as the personification of a rumor, gossip, and general public attention. In these mythical stories, Fama is often depicted as a winged figure who spreads stories rapidly across the world. Apparently, she was said to have a countless amount of eyes, ears, and tongues (I know, terrifying), and this is symbolic for how information (true or false) travels and multiplies once it is released. She is also famously depicted in different traditional and mythical poetry pieces like Metamorphoses by Ovid and Aeneid by Virgil where she is often portrayed as a force that grows as its it moves, meaning the more attention or “fame” fama received, the stronger her persuasion was and the more exaggerated the stories spread.
In Astrology
Fama has a strong purpose in astrology and you can use this asteroid to understand how famous someone will be, a persons’s reputation, how they’re being talked about, how their news or information gets spread, how your name travels around, how a person gains fame or goes viral, and the public perception/rejection/acceptance a person achieves. For the sake of this post I will be discussing the ways that these themes play out based on your Fama sign/house/degrees.
Fama in Aries / 1st House / 1°, 13°, 25°
Fama in Aries or in the 1st house will sort of make you feel like people don't stop talking about you. You could literally do nothing at all and somehow be brought up in a conversation. A lot of people can be very interested in you, specifically the things you got going on, your next plans, and the actions you take. It will really depend on the rest of your chart, but the talk about you is typically about how flighty you are, how hard it is to tie you down, how courageous you are about something that you did or have experienced, etc. You could also gain a lot of attention because of the things that you went through so if you were to gain “fame” it could be from crazy things like being on the news, having an urgent video go viral, etc. vitality can definitely fluctuate. news about you could spread very quickly and sometimes it's true but most of the time it is false and very exaggerated. Ironically, people can obsess over your image both in a good way and in a bad way, but the talk in town and controversy is usually about how you present yourself to the world, how you dress, how you do your makeup, put yourself together etc. for the most part, people are going to have very strong reactions to you and that could be good or bad. People will either really like you or they will really despise you, and with that comes a level of notoriety. You have strong capabilities of achieving high levels of fame if you put the work in of course, because you are very motivated and can capture an audience very naturally.
Fama in Taurus / 2nd House / 2°, 14°, 26°
Fama in Taurus or in the 2nd house has a captivating voice or is very aesthetically pleasing and they use this to brand themselves. I also feel that these people can get a lot of attention either posting makeup videos / tutorials, doing high-end makeup for celebrities, posting lookbooks or get ready with me content etc. essentially, Fame comes to these people because they embody a certain level of beauty and grace that a lot of people are very drawn to. This fame is long-lasting, and these people can even become household names. Information, news and gossip about you will probably always be spread throughout your career or a life in general but it seems like nothing that is said about you ever sticks. People will want to always gossip about your money, your assets, property, etc. You could be called bougie, or high-maintenance, and if there’s even worse gossip its usually about attacking your character (even if they don’t know you) by calling you greedy or selfish or whatever. OR, they will attack your beauty (even if you are very attractive). A lot of people are swayed to side with you if there are any public rivalries or disputes. Fans would adore you and definitely put you on a pedestal. Though fame can be long lasting with this placement, it is not all rainbows and butterflies. This placement is also very karmic. Careful what you wish for.
Fama in Gemini / 3rd House / 3°, 15°, 27°
Fama in Gemini or 3H can very easily gain fame or social media influence through using their voice, words, personality and their media presence. I feel like these people work very hard for it the fame that they achieve because they stay on top of things like posting on social media. If they do not gain attention or fame from their internet presence, they will gain this Fame from being provocative. They will dress however they want to, they will make whatever comments they want to make, they will have opinions that are unpopular and share them, etc. You can definitely become a shapeshifter or be seen as somebody very flexible and this kid have a very diverse course of reactions from the public. People will either love you, or they will be very put off by you, but either way they will be watching you. Relatability is very strong here, you have a natural that's l connecting with all walks of life. The issue is that as often you are online, there is somebody out there talking crap about you just as vigorously. Though fame may not necessarily be long-term, you have a strong natural ability to grab attention at any point in your life and it is very easy. You don't give people a chance to forget about you!
Fama in Cancer / 4th House / 4°, 16°, 28°
This one's a doozy. This one is tricky because it does feel like people feel emotionally imprinted on you, or have some sort of public attachment to you. People feel like they know you even if they've never actually had a conversation with you. Unfortunately a lot of people can project onto you because of this. This is because there's something very emotionally safe about you, and people gravitate towards that light energy of yours. But boundaries can be crossed, and people love to gossip about what's going on in your private life specifically in your home, in your relationships, and your family life etc. I've noticed that attention comes from these things as well so if you do end up “going viral” or getting famous, it could be tied to something involving your family, or your family could also become famous. This is giving long-term fame or attention, but it is with a price. You might notice that people don't really see you for who you are but rather what they project on to you, especially if they feel insecure about certain things that you have. For instance, I think Kylie Jenner has this placement and she is obviously very well known for being part of the Jenner-Kardashian universe. I am not saying she’s perfect but let’s be honest: a good chunk of hate she receives is tied to her sisters, parents, and past relationships. Imo, when she was younger she was hated for being a nepo baby and having money— that’s sorta what you see with this placement. Now of course people do love you and when you are swaying the public in your favor, people attached to your softness and your relatability because you are very relatable, even if you do become famous you don't let that Fame get to your head.
Fama in Leo / 5th House / 5°, 17°, 29°
Fame here is *loud,* and honestly unavoidable. Now no, unfortunately not everyone with this placement will go mega viral, or achieve fame, but it’s about capability. You were like literally born to be in the spotlight, to lead, or to have people looking up to you as a guide of some sort. You might not even be aware of your very natural “celebrity” appeal. But, let’s say you do achieve some level of fame. It’s *fast,* it’s extra, it’s extreme. It’s very karmic. In my opinion, this is like the truest embodiment of Fama in general. The stage was made for *you.* You can gain fame by doing something dramatic or creative, or unforgettable. As I mentioned though, this is very karmic. You could gain a lot of rewards, gifts, financial gain, and notoriety having this placement but it comes at a very high cost. People will not always be kind to you nor will they always side with you. Unfortunately I don't think that this placement necessarily indicates loyal fans or loyal people gravitating towards you in general. This is because it will feel like people only love you when you are performing, not when you are being your truest self. When you go against the grain, people get offended and will publicly humiliate you, gaslight you, or try to bully you into being someone you are not. Be mindful of clout chasers because while you might have fans, you have a lot of people that are looking to piggyback off of your success even if you aren't trying to be “famous”. You have a natural fame quality about you that a lot of energy siphoning individuals like to surround themselves with so they can try to ”energy swap” with you. Nonetheless, you will definitely have moments of virality but it might not always be consistent. If anything, you will have an easier time attracting attention and going viral here and there but if you want long-term success, you will have to shut off outside noise and judgment and get to work because fame and notoriety and success with this placement is not necessarily going to happen overnight. It can be long lasting but you likely won't gain that success with one or two viral videos.
Fama in Virgo / 6th House / 6°, 18°
What I find very interesting about this specific placement is that it really doesn't matter what you go into, you can become well-known for that. I have noticed that a lot of people with this placement go into entertainment or into Beauty and they become very successful with their endeavors. They're success really does come from how pristine and well curated their image is. These people don't really like to step out of line and that sort of creates this consistency about them that people really respect. If and when they get fame, their fans will admire them of course, but they will also respect how hard they worked to get that fame. This could be because when you have this placement, you are a natural born yapper and you tell people your business, or people just feel your essence and they know that you have been through a lot, but you're very selfless and giving as a person. Same could be gained through starting podcasts or motivational speaking, lifestyle channels, etc. On a smaller scale, you could be famous for the ways you help people, you could be known for running different nonprofit organizations or for your charitable work. People will definitely like you, I find that you might not really experience a lot of gossip, or if you do it's typically about things that are just easily to prove as false. People like to nitpick at you and like to point out your flaws but usually in underminded ways. You might experience a lot of passive aggression from the public or from your inner circles. If you are famous you are famous for a very long time. If you aren't famous, you don't leave people's psyches. People always talk about you and always want to know what you are thinking and what you are going to do next, and in ways, you are like a little local celebrity. You are famous in people's minds.
Fama is Libra / 7th House / 7°, 19°
You guys definitely run social media, idc idc. If and when you get famous it's because you have curated such a popular, aesthetically pleasing, celebrity-born instagram feed. Or it's because you are creative or musician or you write poetry. Something that you create is what gets you Fame and you are lucky af because this is one of those places where you really can get overnight success. Fame to you comes very easy, even if you are not necessarily chasing it consciously (you definitely are subconsciously). Your fame can honestly just come from the fact that you are beautiful. People could trust you because you are charming. People can like you because you’re graceful, and inspiring. Even if you aren’t “graceful”, people go to you because you think your essence is beautiful. For the most part, you can stay in public favor. But this is only if people like the decisions you’re making, and I’ve noticed that those are are considered “fans” can be very controlling with this placement. People will talk about you if you start to dress differently, do something different with your hair or look, date certain people they don’t like, or just do things that they do not want to do. Fame or attention here is a slippery slope — it can either be life changing, or life destroying. This is the kind of placement that can let one rumor fester for too long until people just simply believe it. On the bright side, this very rumor can also make you iconic lol. Either way, you will be talked about and even envied even if your “spotlight” has dimmed.
Fama in Scorpio / 8th House / 8°, 20°
You can gain a lot of attention from being bold, eccentric, and even a little problematic if I'm honest with you. When it comes to the kind of Fame you could obtain, it would be anything from music to creative writing to acting, your Fame really comes from how captivating your energy is, rather than what you are doing. People think that you are “deep” and highly resonating so if you are a musician, your music could be a little emo or sad girl ™️ etc., and people would eat that up. This kind of Fame reminds me of The Weeknd and how his music can resonate with a lot of people, but is also very dark. This effect could be seen in almost any industry that can bring fame. People are going to obsess over you and I think that is what really propels the attention and fame that comes your way. They will be obsessed over your work, your motivation's behind your work, your looks, your body, your dating partners, your sexual preferences, etc. It's like there's no boundaries when it comes to you in the public eye and it's really unfortunate. People will definitely judge you because you are a little out there and maybe a little over sexual or provocative for the average person. If people are talking about you, it's about your scandals, it's about the dark things that you did or been through in your past and it's even about stories of other people that are associated with you and somehow you get tied into that gossip. Sometimes it's just completely made up and people will believe it. This placement also attracts a lot of secret fans so I would not be surprised if some of their biggest haters are there secret admirers. Fame here is definitely long-lasting and karmic, and you could be known for all the right or all the wrong reasons.
Fama in Sagittarius / 9th House / 9°, 21°
You're a wild child, and this gets you attention. You could be known for being outspoken, flamboyant, expressive, daring, and bold. Fame for you is really driven by your personality, and a lot of people really like to watch you. You're really fun and you're a natural entertainer. You can definitely stir up a lot of controversy and this just adds to the level of Fame that you get. You are the kind of person that might think that all attention is good attention so you could go viral for an embarrassing moment in your life that was captured on video, having an unpopular opinion that was spread widely over the internet, having a very erratic or blunt personality, etc. You could definitely get Fame from being a comedian, educator or a spiritual advisor or healer. People will have strong reactions to you, and I've noticed that they will love you to the point where they philosophize you and sort of not really see you as a normal everyday person but rather this Idol that they created in their minds. Or, they will think that you're absolutely nuts and that nobody should be listening to you. Either way, your actions as wild as they get will propel the attention and fame you can't achieve. If you are into giving these people a circus, they are carefully watching in the crowd. In ways, you might notice that people get more irritated when you ignore public ridicule and keep doing you. Fame is long-lasting because of your ability to not give a flying f*ck about what people think of you.
Fama in Capricorn / 10th House / 10°, 22°
Your status is everything. I mean, you really show out. Fame here is definitely a slow buildup. Unless you're a nepo baby, you will not see overnight success, you will have to work endlessly day in and day out to get where you want in terms of your career and your reputation. But once you get to that point, you gain so much notoriety. People admire you from all over the world. They can feel like it's their moral obligation to defend you and it could be a bit much. I think that people who support you could also have issues with boundaries and could expect you to also not have strong boundaries so be mindful of the people that try to push you too far. People will definitely see you as somebody that they might be a little intimidated by but ultimately highly respect, and it's this respect that earns you a pretty solid following, fan base or support system. Information or gossip is not typically spread about you because there's really not much to say, and that's not a bad thing. If people want to talk about you they will but usually they have to dig up your past or something that you did when you were younger that was embarrassing, etc. Haters will try to ruin you by throwing your mistakes in your face, even if you're not the same person anymore. do you get what I mean? Gossip doesn't last long but fame can with hard work and dedication. Because you are very strategic, you could achieve levels of fame that last over decades long. Fame is also very karmic here as well, and it's life changing but only if you are willing to put in the work.
Fama in Aquarius / 11th House / 11°, 23°
You can be famous for being unique, innovative, eclectic, and honestly a bit of a weirdo on the internet. Fame can come to you easily if you are willing to be outgoing because the information that you can share and the ways in which you can deliver can have a high impact on the masses and if you bring in a lot of Fame to you. You might be the kind of person that uses the internet to bring in Fame so you could totally become an internet celebrity. You are ahead of a lot of trends and you are always on top of your image online. However, because you are so unpredictable, people have a hard time fully trusting you. You could have a lot of adoring fans and a very strong following, and you could have a lot of people in the middle who will criticize you if they feel like you are doing something out of the norm or something that is socially unacceptable. I think that you receive criticism probably worse than most people. If people are gossiping about you, it is through social media, forums, texting etc. It's usually about how you don't have it together, how maybe you've lost your mind a little bit, how you're neurotic, etc. Usually sings that are personal attacks but they don't even know you to make such judgments. And those that don't like you tend to not like you because they just don't get you, they think that you are too weird, two different. You just don't really pander to cookie cutter people. This is a good placement for long-term fame even if you tend to fade in the background here and there. You can always resurface with a project, idea, or concept that blow people's minds.
Fama in Pisces / 12th House / 12°, 24°
Aesthetics can honestly get you everywhere. Fame comes to you because you have an ethereal and dreamy like quality about you. People connect with your emotional empathic side so if you're somebody who writes poetry, or writes love songs or takes on more emotionally invested creative projects, this could bring you a lot of attention and fame. You are like that cozy energy that people gravitate towards when they just need a hug and can't get one. Music could be your biggest money maker but anything written, or visually expressive like painting or drawing could really bring in a high level of fame. I'll be honest with you, fans or supporters here can be a little insane and unrealistic. They can feel like it's their moral obligation to defend you and it could be a bit much. I think that people who support you could also have issues with boundaries and could expect you to also not have strong boundaries so be mindful of the people that try to push you too far. Unfortunately I feel like this placement deals with a lot of energy vampires, rather than a lot of gossip. Be mindful of how you feel when you are around the people that give you attention. Nonetheless, Fame can be long-term here. People will keep playing your music for years to come, they'll read your books when they need that nostalgic feeling from the past, they will admire your art when they are missing someone. Even if you aren't actively trying to gain attention or trying to gain fame, people won't forget you because the imprint that you leave with people is unforgettable.
