#it's a pros and cons ep for me for sure. although the ending was spectacular #they pull some visuals straight off those pages too- the residuum chair for one #frumpkin in the window for another #also i loved all the GERMAN!!!!!!!#it speaks #m9 spoilers #adding:#i want to be clear that most of my tepid misgivings are about how little space there is for astrid and wulf - and #really ONLY because i find the portrayal of that relationship in the comic so profoundly excellent #they focused on caleb's own struggle here which i can understand. and honestly it's truer to his actual monologue to beau #whereas the origins tale is very much about the three of them and the necessity of that love as an anchor #even as it was inescapably twisted through with unspeakable abuse #for ALL of them #the aforementioned pros of this version go crazy hard though let me get that straight. omg #again. my glasses are very rosy #trying to be done yapping cause the ep is really very good #blumendrei as a part of this story - and caleb's start to finish arc are tremendously close to my heart #and have really held my hand through the vast and terrible darkness. as it were #so you know.
