if you're starting an original creative project and you're serious about it, stop introducing your characters to me as your ocs. It's so bad at grabbing attention, imo.

Introduce them by their name or who they are. This character is important. They're cool. They're established. They have a story or design worth the audience's attention. Let me know that! There's nothing wrong with saying "oc" on its own, of course, and it doesn't mean you take your characters less seriously, but in way of an introduction, it's not great at communicating any of the above.

This isn't a big deal, obviously, especially if you don't care that much, but so many times I see people with awesome original stories just completely fail to deploy a good hook. Like, I actually think that posting a picture without a caption is more engaging than adding "my oc" at the bottom or something. Or am I crazy...?
