I personally nerer thought I would look at beauty culture and it’s impact on our youth in a political manner. I would deffinetely recommend reading this study if you want to see in a political aspect.

I would suggest reflecting on your childhood and try to see if you found yourself either influenced by certain toys or if you find any correlation between gender roles and toys. It was really sad reading the results of these studies

-It was great hearing from a young high school girl and what she thought of the issue. I think it's important to heart these young girls out because they are living under the pressure currently they are in the mist of the entire, dreadful experience. Everybody has an opinion and definition to the word "Beauty"

-I would recommend this documentary to anyone who wants to learn more about this issue. I watched it for my research paper in my English class and for my gender blog project. I think it's such an effective documentary because it's all relevant. The examples they use, we grew up with. They also include men in the documentary who have their own perspective.  I would highly recommend this documentary. It is on Netflix and available at the UIC library.
