Winter ~ Addy Carver/Reader

“I hate the winter.” You spat bitterly as you shoved a beanie over your matted hair. You could barely feel your fingers as you brought them up towards your mouth to try and blow in to them to give you some sort of relief.
“It could be worse. It could be snowing.” Addy quipped in quickly, pulling a coat off a hanger and unzipping it, wrapping it around her. It accentuated her curves and you couldn’t help but watch as she picked out a matching scarf and hat set.
“Don’t even jinx it.” You groaned, noting 10K out of the corner of your eyes seemed to be pulling on some gloves.
“10K, where did you find those.” You rushed over, trying to pull the glove he had not yet managed to put on out of his hands. 10K simply held it over his head, meaning you couldn’t reach it.
“Why do you have to be freakishly long.” You glared at him, this comment making Addy burst in to giggles.
“Oh, so mature.” You rolled your eyes, realising the connotation of what you had said.
“Can you children please be quiet, you’re ruining this whole experience for me.” Murphy was wrapped in a fur coat, admiring himself in the mirror.
“Hurry up, we need to get out of here before the weather gets worse.” Vasquez looked at you with an unimpressed face, throwing on a large winter coat.
“We’re going to bring the blankets we found out to the car. Don’t take long- Murphy. Get over here and help me” Warren shouted towards Murphy as she bent down to pick up a pile of blankets, walking out of the store behind Vasquez in a wine red coat. You were surprised she picked that colour but it suited her.
“Doc, are you not picking a coat out?” Addy asked as she watched Doc staring at himself in a small mirror.
“I’ve got one already,” He motioned to the coat that lay by his feet, “I’m looking for a pair of shades to complete the look.” He turned around to look at Addy with his arms raised. The sunglasses he was wearing were mirrored aviators and you raised an eyebrow in amusement.
10K showed you where he had found the gloves and you threw a couple of pairs in to your backpack before placing some on to your hands as well.
“That coat looks really cute on you,” You heard a voice from behind you as you turned your cheek slightly to see Addy’s face incredibly close to your own, you moved back shyly and smile at her.
“Yours looks great too. Suits you.” You blushed, following her towards the front door of the store together, your shoulders bumping together.
The wind increased the chill you felt as you wrapped your coat around yourself tighter, climbing in to the back seat of the truck, squeezing in beside Addy. You shuffled as close as possible towards her so that 10K could squeeze in beside you. She gave you the smallest smile which you reciprocated. The little touches and glances you’d been giving each other for weeks now, you weren’t sure whether Addy really liked you or she was just being friendly. You remembered her relationship with Mack and how upset she was when she lost him. You wondered whether it was possible she liked you back, if anyone in this world could like you back.
Addy lifted the blanket up that was currently covering herself and you accepted it gratefully, trying to tug it far enough across so 10K could some of it over him too. Under the blanket you felt Addy’s hand cross over and slip in between your legs, squeezing your thigh. You smiled at her and placed your head on her shoulder, drifting off to sleep. You felt Addy’s lips graze your forehead slightly before placing her head on top of your own. The simple action caused fireworks to erupt inside you as you had to hold back from yelling in happiness.
