Satire is satire if You are laughing from both candidates. I don’t care about US politics but I see tons of D.T haters. So many hate guys…
For those of you outside the country looking in, I am going to address this one time. Yes, a lot of people do not Donald Trump for a number of reasons. They have that right.
In the last 24 hours I have had, first hand:
Had someone tell me that a friend of hers in Lousiana had a cross burned on their lawn for no other reason than they had a Hillary Clinton for president sign in their yard.
Had someone else tell me they know a little Latino kid who afraid to go to school for fear he’s going to be bullied because he’s Latino.
Had to console a personal friend of mine who is a poor college student and is disabled, gay, black and female because she is afraid for her life and her future.
I have read stories of women putting away their hijabs because they are afraid for their life.
Racism runs very deeply in this country in some areas. There are people who honestly and truly believe that POC should still be slaves. I’ve met them. They scare me. These are the type of people that rallied behind Trump. Racism was a huge part of this election. Anyone that thinks it didn’t has their head buried in the sand.
Having said all of this, do not tell me what something that I made in conjunction with someone else is or isn’t. You do not know what Joe (my voice actor who sent me the audio for this and asked me to do something with it) was thinking when he put it together.
I just pulled up the definition of satire:
the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues.
I think that this piece fits this definition very well. Nowhere does it state that you have to be 'laughing at both sides’ as you put it.
You do not have to agree with anything that I post. You do not have to like things that I make. However, it is not up to you to define someone else’s work, as it were, and decide if someone wrote something to be satire or not because it doesn’t fit your definition.
