I got tired of looking at Adem’s wig being the wrong color, so I finally decided to do something about it. It’s a mohair wig I got off Etsy from a Taobao reseller, and it wasn’t available in green, the closest was cyan but it was still definitely too blue.

I did an experimental dye job as I didn’t want to spend money on a whole bottle of dye when all I needed were a few drops. So what I did was add a couple drops of acrylic paint (Army Painter Warpaint Air in “Feral Green”) into some isopropyl alcohol and mixed it super thin (I didn’t want the wig bright but a light/muted green). Then I dabbed it in with a brush and used a fine toothed comb to disperse it and keep the wig from clumping. I’m not sure if it is natural mohair or synthetic, I did add some leave in conditioner I use for my own curly hair, so it would remain soft. Then I removed excess paint with water and let the wig air dry overnight.

honestly I am really happy with the results of the impromptu and unconventional dye job. I even made him some new brighter green eyes on Wednesday. Don’t get me wrong, I loved his Ashuradark eyes, but I wanted his eyes a brighter green.

The wig looked like a lump of grass as it was drying haha!

I’m just really happy the wig finally matches his eyebrows. So far the wig has not transferred color to the resin nor his clothing, and it’s been a few days, though I would caution people to do this mostly to synthetic wigs rather than natural fiber wigs. The reason is that the wig’s texture did change, so it’ll require styling or a wash to remove the conditioner again. For now I am happy though!

Hopefully I will be able to take nicer pics of him soon with my DSLR, as my phone is terrible and I have to edit the snot out of the pictures to get the coloring remotely close to reality…

just had a thought that when/if the reaction fic for tlahsr when they get to see alhaadi's human form and also realize that jing yuan is his other parent besides leona? that had me thinking of the other kids too since tlahsr!welt was wondering where leona and all the kids were at and even mentioned adem too and that nanook is his other parent while tlahsr!welt was being a protective dad/grandpa. well with xiao yue, dan heng and bailu and any other vidyadhara are gonna be shocked seeing her. cause besides apparently trying to bring back baiheng after she died, dan feng was also looking into ways to make it that vidyadhara could stop reincarnating like they do and start once more reproducing biologically like other species could to hopefully raise the population numbers of his race. and then here is xiao yue, a half-vidyadhara, who will probably live for centuries given her heritage as a vidyadhara, but the point being that dan heng in a way succeeding where dan feng, his previous incarnation, was desperately searching for with his daughter, his actual daughter being a reality.

Oh! that’s going to be shown next chapter with Adem. after reacting to chapter 5 arc 0, they will then react to chapter 30 shenanigans 2, where they find out Alhaadi is Jing Yuan’s kid. then react to chapter 7 arc 1 where sampo gets yelled at by Leona. a fan favorite from what I have seen.

Then we will be reacting to chapter 25 arc 1. Xiao Yue though, I might do the reveal of her in the reaction book early so that Xiao Yue can bond with Canon Dan Heng and the rest of the cast first.

It will be quite fun to do their reactions and would allow me to do some more world building along with showing more differences between both Canon HSR Dan Heng and TSR Dan Heng. where TSR Dan Heng got the child that both Canon HSR Dan Feng and TSR Dan Feng wanted. :)
