I’m like decades late to this show but I’m watching Teen Wolf for the first time and why the FUCK is Stiles Stilinski the most ADHD coded character of all time?? I thought a fandom just saw a sassy guy and went crazy but nooooo he is so cringe-fail ADHD you don’t even KNOW like:

*regularly texts Scott 27 times in a row to the point where Scott’s girlfriend for only like 1 month fully believes this is normal behaviour*

Stiles: Hey I bet you can’t say “She sells sea shells by the sea shore” 5 times!

Stiles and Scott: *talking about a literal murder*

Stiles: Wait, am I attractive to gay guys?

Scott: *leaves to go find the culprit of a murder*

Stiles: *shouting after him in a crowded hall* You didn’t answer my question! AM I ATTRACTIVE TO GAY GUYS??!

My friend, as a teen, talking about Teen Wolf: I love Stiles so much he is my number one crush he’s so sassy and awesome

Teenage me, who had not seen Teen Wolf: Checks out, snarky men are attractive, nothing to see here

Me now, ten years later, watching Teen Wolf, realising Stiles is an ADHD disaster and not a snarky bad boy: …I think I need to have a serious convo about whether my friend was secretly in love with me

Tis the season for me to once again bitch about how much I hate Rudolph the Rednose Reindeer. Or as I like to call it, Rudolph the "you are only allowed to be different if you're useful" Reindeer. The Christmas carol 'Yes, lets teach children who are different that you gotta earn the right to exist without mockery. Not just earn the right, but make yourself completely essential in order to just, like, not be abused on a daily basis.'

And Rudolph doesn't even get to hang out with other reindeer after he's picked out by Santa! They still don't play reindeer games with him. They just isolate him in a different, safer way.

Like if you're different, don't worry! Just make yourself essential to society then pray that a random person in a position of power notices you and then exploits your difference for their own gain. Then you can exist without fear of hatred and mockery. Yay!

Of course those fucking reindeer were playing Monopoly. Stupid capitalist ass song.

I’ve seen an ADHD short doing the internet rounds of someone saying they wish people had told them that medication doesn’t ‘fix’ it. You still have ADHD it’s just like, slightly less.

And I totally agree. If people had told me that medication just dampens some ADHD symptoms rather than magically getting rid of it I would’ve gotten on it WAY sooner. I spent so long refusing it because I didn’t wanna not have my personality traits.

I mean I do not want to have my personality traits: but for counselling self love reasons I like my personality and don’t wanna get rid of it.

Which is a hard balance to strike with ADHD treatment, no matter what way you go. Even if you’ve got some good practitioners who aren’t immediately seeing the ADHD as something wrong - trying to identify what traits are limiting you and manage them puts you in a certain headspace about yourself. Almost pathologised masking.

But alas, it is what we have. And I have dishes to do so we gotta get some coping mechanisms up in here.

Sometimes it’s just you and that dirty cup in the corner of your room that has been there for 3 weeks and you gives you daily anxiety but you still won’t clean. It’s about the chemistry. The will they won’t they. The mutual pining but oh no I can’t give in. Stolen glances across the room. Oh the torture. Even when my eyes are off you I’m thinking of you.
