I haven't really written in quite a while (about 4 days, maybe) and I felt a if something was missing so... Here are some of my James Potter headcanons! Which are not, by any means, me projecting.

I like to think he is Latino on her mother's side, specifically Guadalajara, Mexico. I dunno, I feel like Mexico is so vibrant and proud and loud about their culture, and their music is so focused on saying things face to face, like, not at all subtle, that I feel that's where James has his openness, I guess. Also, Euphemia Potter, being a typical Mexican mom, gives ten years of life.

James is irrevocably demiromantic. Like, he grew up listening to his parents' love story (I also hc that Euphemia and Fleamont had this like, big, Disney-like romance in which they were friends, but then they grew closer and fell in love yk?) and like, he had since the belief that true love came from friendship and deep, true understanding of the other person.

(Jegulus AU) James had always kind of noticed Regulus, but James only saw him (Regulus) as Sirius' younger brother. It wasn't until Regulus was moved up one grade in Potions and he and James were partnered together that James saw Regulus, and they began their usual banter. I think they are so cute. But James begins to fall in love in a super mundane setting. Like the library or just going into the kitchens late at night. They actually talk around when James was in fifth year and Reg in fourth, James falls in love around the second semester of sixth year.

He is awfully good at anything that needs him to think on his feet. That sudden, quick problem-solving attitude is what makes him such a good Quidditch captain, because even when the times seem precarious, he kind of pulls off a plan so crazy no one with a sense of forethought or afterthought would've planned.

That also means James is kind of in an awkward position at Magical Chess. Sure, he is smart enough to read the moves and what the opponent is thinking, but chess requires thinking six steps ahead, and James excels at in-the-moment stuff. So he is better than some, but Peter absolutely demolishes him every time they go against each other.

I hc that James is ADHD; he was never actually diagnosed, because, well, the 70's weren't the most diagnostically aware of it, but, since he was lowkey high-functioning either way, his parents just said James was "energetic". Remus later discovered some calming medicines that kind of did their job, and Peter asked McGonnagall for spells to help James.

James is selfish in that he sometimes wishes his friends were worse off than they are so they would need him more. He feels horrible afterwards, but the thoughts still linger every time.

Absolutely, the mom friend. But like, he will smother every one of his friends into taking care of themselves, but then do something dumb or forget vital stuff. Like his wand on the couch.

Sometimes thinks he is friends with the Marauders because he feels vital to the group. Because he feels as though he is the heart of the group. He isn't wrong per se, but anyone with eyes could see that James truly cares for his friends on a deep level.

My boy James is pansexual as FUCK. He just loves everyone. I saw a post that said he was attracted to vibes, and I couldn't agree more. I mean, how can James Potter not be in love with all his heart? Preposterous.

He reads Science Fiction RELIGIOUSLY, Frankenstein made something within him settle and move at the same time. He feels as if he is Dr. Frankenstein sometimes; other times he is the monster himself.

His family may be "Blood Traitors," but they are still part of the 28, so best believe James had the best dance and music tutors. He had always possessed a "talent" for improv music, but had a bit of a hard time reading the music sheet and playing at the same time, so he would memorize whole music books. This resulted in some pretty weird music remixes. No one else had made Mozart and Beethoven sound so great together as a distracted James Potter.

I think I have so so so many more, but it is kind of late and momma did, in fact, raise a bitch. So that's all for today.
