So I highly suspect both myself and my father have diagnosible ADHD, and one of the funny side effects of the two of us having it but not my mother is that we just instinctively know how to communicate with each other to get things done, and she's just like ???? Example: My mother frequently tries to leave my Dad reminder notes, which he totally misses, and she gets so exasperated like "I EVEN PUT IT AT EYE LEVEL." But when I need to leave my Dad a reminder note, I tape it to the handle of the door he has to go through to get downstairs in the morning because I understand that neither one of us is probably going to notice a note we aren't looking for, especially in a familiar environment, unless said note unavoidably triggers a sense other than vision. Fast forward to now, and my apartment maintenance guy thinks it's the funniest shit that I habitually leave notes like this, and the moral of the story is that a note you have to grab with your hand to get through your morning is a very successful reminder.
