Oh my god, ADHD medication heat intolerance IS an actual thing? I tried to do research on it and all I could find was vague maybes, like "this may be a side effect" with no details. I've always been sensitive to heat, even as a kid, but since starting my meds (which are helping a lot!) the upper limit is so much lower! I go outside when it's more than 70˚F and I can feel the weight of the sun on my skin. I've been inside or under an umbrella for months, this summer has been a Struggle but I still wasn't sure I wasn't, you know. Making it up.
You're not crazy- poor heat tolerance is a well-known side effect of many ADHD Medications and SSRIs, which are often prescribed alongside ADHD Meds because they make the stimulants more effective, and beacuse having ADHD is depressing AF. Prior to going on Buproprion and Adderall, my heat tolerance was up to 100F, and now it's more like 68F lol.
