We did it!

So, after months of hard work in archiving and coding, we finally have the site finished enough to publicize it! 

It’s still super incomplete (our page count pales in comparison to some other Wikis and there are a lot of broken links), but we do have the only article on a Wiki about TGCE, the biggest catalogue of Colorgenders + Drogegenders + Synesthesia related genders, a page rating system (there’s a little ‘rate’ button at the bottom of the page, the biggest catalogue of terms from TGCE, Page-2-IDs, MOGAI-Monarchs, and Neopronouns, and the biggest catalogue of terms from the Dianetics System, the Warrior Cats Gender System, and the Genderstajon System!

Hopefully we’ll find a good way to balance intense work on the site and running this archive, but there’ll probably still be times where one is slacking a little..

I want to be mad at Alex or eir supporters likely trying to get (at least some of) our pages on eir terms taken down (I guess because we refuse to present incomplete information just because Alex is trying to be noble or something), but the fact that this person really thought that this report would get those pages taken down by Wikidot is really funny to me.

Like, you do know those flags go directly to us, right? We hold all the power with what’s done with those reports. That function pretty much only exists for sites that run like fandoms, where more people other than the site’s creators of the website can make and/or edit pages, so moderators can be alerted to inappropriate/vandalized/whatever pages.

This doesn’t go to higher powers, this goes to the people who made the pages, lol.

I honestly want to know why you would think that would work. It’s the in-site report function on a site that was meant by the host/template maker to be used like a fandom- publicly changeable. Why would you think that would be for people at Wikidot and not the site admins? If you report vandalism on a fandom page, do you think it’ll go to fandom staff?

This gets better (worse for the reporter) when you realize that Wikidot tells people how to report sites that violate their TOS, which involves emailing an address they have set up for that. Let’s also add in the fact that anyone who read the TOS who weren’t already on a warpath would realize that we don’t come close to doing anything wrong. They even have a rule in there against presenting misinformation as fact- us refusing to remove certain information so we can be as accurate as possible is the opposite of breaking that rule.

This whole thing is a comedy of incredibly foolish errors and I love it. Apparently a 30 second Google and 5 seconds of critical thought is too much to ask for and now I get to laugh at the result.

Whoever you are (probably Alex, but I know you still have supporters, so who knows), I want to genuinely thank you for the entertainment and laughs. Try again- and by that I mean don’t because you would just waste peoples time- and I’ll see you next time. ~Admin Gray

Doing another LGBTA Wiki sweep for redefinitions and new gender systems. Hopefully it won’t turn into having to add 2 definitions to like a third or something of our pages, but that feels a little optimistic at this point. -Admin Gray

Accidental Account Terminations

Hi. This is just a short-ish post saying that three of the four mods got our accounts terminated out of nowhere. None of us did anything that violated the guidelines, but it happened anyway. Luckily, Rain still has censor account, so we can all post through that and the blog didn’t disappear.

We all have support tickets open with Tumblr, but some people have reported it taking weeks to months to get their accounts back (the longest time we’ve come across is 8 months). Until we can get our accounts back, post on here are probably going to get a little spotty once the current queue runs out.

This also seems to’ve happened to Rando-Pride-Flags, MOGAI-Monarchs, and possibly mp721, and it for sure happened to Page-2IDs(post). At the moment, none of us are sure if we’ll get our accounts back, nor if anyone we mentioned will either.

Hopefully this will get resolved soon, but knowing the wait-times people have been having, that seems unlikely.

Luckily, most of us not really being able to be on Tumblr (we’ve opted to not make new accounts for the time being) means we’ll be able to dedicate that time to the website and there should be a lot more of those pages coming up soon.

Site Updates

So, it’s been a while. I know that we gave out some ideas for the time that the site would go public/we would post a link, then missed them and just completely forgot to address that, and I want to say that we’re sorry for that first off. We really thought that the site would get done sooner and then when we missed and we forgot that we’d made the posts.

The main reason this has taken so long was because of how much information we’d have to put in the TGCE page (I think you can tell based off our last site update how that’s going...) and how deep all of this goes.

That sort of leads into the next part of the update. We’ve decided to move our goal for what we’re going to have finished before the wiki goes up. Instead of having 9 pages in each umbrella term list page, we’ve decided that we’re just going to finish the TGCE page and then post the link. We have enough pages all together in the categories to make up for most of the missing ones and we really don’t want to take too much more time getting the site ‘public’.

Abandoe/Abandigender

Over the past few days, we’ve been going through the LGBTA Wiki to get redefinitions for terms (that’s part of why the site’s taking so long, since we didn’t think of doing this sooner, I’m so sorry) and I came across Abandoe, since I was planning on doing a page for that soon.

It turns out that it was redefined and given a new name and two new flags and I have no idea how to treat it. Part of me wants to just put the new name, definition, and flags on the Abandoe page and just clear up that it’s a redefinition, Abandigender wasn’t originally an alt name etc. 

But part of me also thinks that we should just make a page for it as its own thing; I mean, a name, different definition, and flags just sounds like a coining post and completely new term. Sure, it still has some similarities, but it doesn’t feel like enough to just make this a redefinition.

We’ve also been throwing around counting this as a recoining of Abandoe and that sounds like it would work, too, since it feels like how three different people coined Mousegender with different definition separate from each other; we counted those as recoinings and left them on the same page, but they didn’t have different names.

It really feels like there are three ways to take this and none of us have any idea of which one would work best. If anyone has an opinion, feel free to comment or something. ~Admin Gray

Can someone tell me why the average time spent on the Koffiegender page is 12:49??? 

I mean, no shame or anything, but I’m just curious how someone’s time got even close to that high (or even higher). It’s not like it’s a page that has a section for incorrect correlations, a gender system page, related to something more out there for the community, or even just a gender with a long definition...

I have questions and I fear that there will never be answers
