Accidental Account Terminations

Hi. This is just a short-ish post saying that three of the four mods got our accounts terminated out of nowhere. None of us did anything that violated the guidelines, but it happened anyway. Luckily, Rain still has censor account, so we can all post through that and the blog didn’t disappear.

We all have support tickets open with Tumblr, but some people have reported it taking weeks to months to get their accounts back (the longest time we’ve come across is 8 months). Until we can get our accounts back, post on here are probably going to get a little spotty once the current queue runs out.

This also seems to’ve happened to Rando-Pride-Flags, MOGAI-Monarchs, and possibly mp721, and it for sure happened to Page-2IDs(post). At the moment, none of us are sure if we’ll get our accounts back, nor if anyone we mentioned will either.

Hopefully this will get resolved soon, but knowing the wait-times people have been having, that seems unlikely.

Luckily, most of us not really being able to be on Tumblr (we’ve opted to not make new accounts for the time being) means we’ll be able to dedicate that time to the website and there should be a lot more of those pages coming up soon.

Best of luck to everyone we mentioned with getting their accounts back(if that’s what they want) and we’ll hopefully see you all soon.

A few Things

Just a quick note, this is a dumb post. This is like... a really petty thing and I know that. This is probably my hyperfixation making me a little weird, so honestly just ignore this. It’s probably gonna be down in a few hours. Really, don’t take this post seriously. I’m just tired and kind of “ranting” (in a light hearted sorta way).

Please stop coining Mousegender. It’s happened three times and the last two were within a few days of each other. I could turn this into a “please look up if terms have been coined with the same name as yours and here are some places to do that*” but like, I’m not because I’m kind of impressed by the sheer amount of times this has been coined. I think this is the most times a gender with the same name has been coined and I’m almost afraid.

Use -coric right. This is a little less jokey but still not a super big deal. People misuse -coric a lot. Like, it’s only meant to be for genders related to a “core” aesthetic (naturecore, flowercore, etc.) and not just a suffix for any old gender. It’s genuinely a thing that I’ve seen people do a lot and I don’t get it? Even if you haven’t seen the coining post, it sounds like it would be for that and I would think the trend of it only being used for genders related to “core”s would’ve tipped people off? IDK, this is just... IDK And it hasn’t happened with any other suffix that’s meant for something specific (that I’ve seen). Like, everyone’s so good with -honum, -fascic, etc. I just... IDK

Also, Exemgender isn’t any gender related to a game or pokemon. I’ve seen people use it that way and that’s not what it is. It’s not an umbrella term for those it’s part of a gender system/the “main” gender in a gender system. I really don’t get where people got this, since the gender system it’s part of is literally named after it. I... How??

I can’t honestly think of anything else, but yeah. That’s it. Not sure what this post is or if it’s gonna stay up, but thanks to anyone that read it.

Note About Something

This is something we’ve been meaning to put somewhere on the site for a while, but we couldn’t really figure it out, so here it is. We’re loosening up what it takes for us to separate redefinitions from the original term. If a redefinition gives a new flag and/or name to a term, we’ll count it as a separate thing, especially if they change how a term would be categorized in some way.

We figured we should bring this up now, since we’re about to do pages for multiple coinings of Clowngender and one of them was originally meant as a redefinition and flag redesign and this was important to that.

A Third Update(sorta)

We’re considering doing another (hopefully shorter) sweep of pages checking for new flags, redesigns, redefs, etc. This won’t be like overhauls, since we won’t be updating all of the as of [date] dates or even opening every page, but it should result in a lot of newer content regardless. ~Admin Meyer

Site Maintenance Update

Currently working on fixing broken links (creating needed pages, fixing typos, removing links for non-existent terms, whatever else).

We most likely won’t get all of them done today, since there are an unreasonable amount of them, but it felt like we should start doing something about them beyond coincidence. ~Admin Meyer

Minor Update

We’re considering redesigning the homepage of the website to make it easier to navigate. We’re not entirely sure how right now, as the best idea we have is using a table similar to MOGAIpedia, which we won’t do because it won’t work with how many umbrella terms we use to categorize terms and because we don’t want it to look too similar to MOGAIpedia.

At the moment, we’re messing around with an unpublished Wikidot site to see what works and what doesn’t. Hopefully, we’ll have everything sorted out by the time we do our next overhaul in January, but that doesn’t seem entirely likely.
