Requested: “ Can I request a mark tuan scenario where Mark's lab partner in college is talkative and he's not so he's cold to her at first but then slowly falls for her cause she's funny and clumsy? Thanks!”
A/N: This has been in the inbox for quite some time, and I finally have it ready to post! I hope you like the liberties I took, and I would like to turn this into a series. If you would like that let me know in the ask box! -admin izzy
Here is the second part of the series! x
The only reason you were in this lab class was because it was a Gen Ed. College made no sense to you sometimes, and the fact that you had to be in a chemistry class with a Sociology major was crazy. Even though it wasn’t a hard class, it was a boring one. Although it wasn’t interesting to you, the one good thing about the class was your lab partner.
Even though you had been blessed with such a cute lab partner, but you hadn’t really got to know him. He was a reserved person, which is the exact opposite of your personality, and you only knew three things about him: his name, major, and age. That was it. That was all you have been able to get out of him this entire semester. An entire semester working together on chemicals and compounds and all you knew where three things? He must not like you very much. Even though you were able to interact with anyone with ease, you still haven’t gotten to know this guy.
Your friends and family have always told you that you were really good with people, and you pride yourself on that. You were a social butterfly, and not being at least somewhat close with Mark made you a little self conscious. You were determined to become this boy’s friend, and at the perfect time. Earlier that morning, you had received an email about a take home project for your final exam that involved working with Mark outside of class. This was the perfect opportunity to really get to know him and you secretly thanked your professor.
Walking into class, you see Mark already in his seat at the table with his headphones in. Your heart started to beat in your chest at the very thought of talking to him. He made you anxious and excited at the same time, and you knew for sure he thought you were weird, but you were determined to change that. Sitting down, you gave him a small smile which he returned. Maybe he was in a good mood, or decided to be somewhat civil for the sake of the project.
“Did you see the email that the professor sent out?”, you said with a nervous laugh.
Nodding your head, you turned your attention to the front of the class as the professor was going into more detail about the project you would be doing.
After class was over, Mark proceeded to put his headphones in and was getting ready to leave. Seeing your shot, you spoke up,
“Shouldn’t we exchange numbers so we can work on the project?”
Mark stood there for a moment and then replied, “I don’t really like working with other people, so I’ll just do my part and then email it to you, okay?”
Shocked you scoffed, “No, we’re not doing that. We’re doing this together. I know that you don’t like me or think I’m weird or something, but I don’t work that way. I’ll give you my number and we can work out a time to meet, or we can both fail. Your choice.”
What in the world just came over you? It bothered you that even though you could work on the project out of the stuffy lab class, he still didn’t want to work with you. You were pretty sure that he was just being an asshole at this point, and you weren’t having it.
He gave you a small and lightly chuckled, “Okay, crazy. Here is my number and we’ll work something out. I’m just to working alone, but I guess I can get out of my shell for a cute girl like you. I have a empty period tomorrow around 12, wanna work on it then?”
Not really sure where this sudden burst of confidence from him came from, but you secretly liked it. Exchanging numbers, you smiled and added a cute emoji next to your name.
“Okay, Mark. We can get lunch and start working on it. It’ll be okay, I don’t bite.”
“Aww that’s a shame. It’s a date then. See ya later, crazy.”
Mark then put his headphones back in and walked out the door. Maybe working with him wasn’t going to be totally horrible, and walk out with a friendship (maybe more if you were totally lucky). Smiling at this contact, Markie Pooh, you walked out of the class thankful for this project and your professor.
