May I request Kuroo trying to teach his s/o to spike, or something cute like that?
Hi Anon, thank you for the request (AND APOLOGIES FOR THE DELAY!!) Since I don’t know what else I could write about, I’ll just use your spiking prompt ;3 Also most of this was really bad dialogue and it’s pretty short so I apologize (I’m not going to lie, this was written on my phone in the car :p)
“No, Y/N, I’ve told you a million times, I will not teach you how to play volleyball during team practices.” “But Kuroo, I REALLY want to play. Just teach me something small, like spiking!” “You do realize that spiking is one of the biggest parts of volleyball? There are no “small parts” in volleyball… Oh come on babe, don’t give me that face.” “*puppy eyes* But we’ve literally been dating for 3 years now, and I’ve asked you a million times! Please, just this once?” “Fine. Come over here.” Kuroo gently leads you to the edge of a net (as the Nekoma team are playing practice games), and takes a few volleyballs aside. “Okay, now I’m going to toss the ball. Just try hitting it over the other side as hard as you can. Got it? Okay. One, two, three” He tosses the ball up high, and you wait until the ball is lower.“Honey, you completely missed the ball. Here, you’re not used to higher sets, so I’ll go a bit lower. Hit it right away, okay?” This process goes on until the end of practice, and you’re still missing balls or whacking them into the net. The few balls that actually hit the other side ended up whacking Kenma or Lev in the head. “Kuroo, can we stay? Please? I want to try again!” “Okay. But you need to help take down the net after. We’re only using one net so the rest are being put away right now. I’m going to go help, stay right here,” he says, winking. After clean-up is over and the rest of the members go home, it’s just you, Kuroo, a net, and volleyballs. “Okay, now I’m going to teach you properly. First, you use the approach. Left, right, left is for right-handed people, and the opposite is for left-handed people,” he explains as he does the movements for you. “Got it. Then I jump and slam the ball over, right?” “Yeah, but make sure your arms come behind you, the swing them up for momentum. Like this.” “Okay okay, I think I can do it!” “Let me guide you through it first.” He makes you do each of the positions as he walks around you, fixing the positions of your arms, legs, and the height of your jump. “Okay, now you’re ready. I’m setting the ball on three. One, two, three!” You slam it over the net perfectly. “Kuroo, I did it! I actually did it!” “Ohohoho? You, total beginner, the biggest klutz on Earth, actually managed to do a spike?”“Stop teasing me, and come here!”“Hey, don’t hug me, we’re both sweaty.” “Too bad,” you grin, hugging him tighter.
