Backstory:
For the beginning of Alexander’s life the world was bleak and darker. His father was a leader and often the one those who lived in their village would rely on. In the time that Alexander had been born mankind was only just beginning. However, Alexander was never meant to be raised in that time, in that place. A storm of ice had come and killed many, including the baby. But the reaper who had come to claim his soul had seen something in the infant. Something that he had imagined might save the reaping world. For the exchange of her infant the reaper made Alexander’s birth mother an offer. To claim his soul, and have him grow up in a new millennia, one he would be the most effective in. Her only other alternative was to lose him entirely. The reaper promised that one day she would meet him again when he was older. With that the woman let her son be taken by the reaper.
Many years later Alexander’s family was thriving. A descendant of an older sibling of his had lost a son at birth. The reaper again came to the family. This time offering to the father, in exchange for the life of the son lost. He could give them another son that was taken. In desperation the male descendant agreed to this, welcoming the infant. His wife however could not entirely accept this exchange. It was not her son. It was not of her blood. Alexander was often abused and neglected by his new mother. Which caused more stress to the small family. Alexander was not able to understand many of these instances of abuse. Which gave him little awareness of the world around him. One day resulting in him, at about two years old, wandering into the kitchen where a knife had been left out. He knocked it off the counter while messing around and stabbed himself in the throat with it accidentally.
After this he was left unable to speak. This incident also reminded his father of a relative that once stabbed themself in the throat with a fork, also making them unable to speak. Because of this his new father knew more about why the reaper came to him. Imagine that his new son was meant to be almost like the replacement for the other distant relative, in a way. This meant nothing to Alexander's new mother, however. Who continued to mistreat Alexander and mock him for injuring himself in such a ridiculous way. It was however not long after this that the woman would go out one night and seem to get into a car accident. However, her body would never be found at the wreck. She would also never be seen again by Alexander or his new father.
Because of his family’s continued prosperity and wealth Alexander got the best care to help him be able to speak again, and any other thing that might have come up. He would grow up home schooled in a mansion to avoid issues with children at school and having to speak too much. At this point in his life things were relatively normal, aside from not being able to talk due to the damage to his throat. Then one day when he was about to enter high school a letter came to invite him to a Reaper Academy, Bluerose Reaper Academy was the school. As his father had figured years before, just like the ancestor had been invited to join a Reaper Academy, his son was also now invited to do the same. Alexander was tested to see if he was fit to attend the school and was cleared to go, of course.
Though with his attendance at the school came a new and unnatural stress onto his life especially when female classmates would often focus all their attention onto one of the other male students in attendance with him. It was not so much their giving the boy attention, as much as the girl interrupting his school work with their talking about how ‘cute’ the other boy was during the middle of class. Where Alexander had wanted to learn, they had only wanted to fawn over this one male student. This would eventually grow into Alexander becoming fed up with this situation and lashing out at the students causing it, and often the boy. However he had liked the other’s company when the girls were not begging for the other’s attention or fawning.
When given his registered scythe he had been able to unlock his natural born gifts to learn with. As well as his scythe had, as all scythes were, come with its own special power. Alexander’s scythe had given Alexander the ability to manipulate Ice. Which would be his primary mode of attack as a Reaper. Learning to perfect his skill along with his fellow classmates however was a difficult one, because of all the noisy fawning classmates over his fellow classmates. However he was able to distract himself from these annoyances for a time when he got himself a girlfriend. There he was able to not let his emotions get the better of him. Even when they had to fight off villains threatening their school and other such things.
This however was turned on its head when the male classmate that he had always been rumored to be jealous of because of the female students' annoying behavior had become corrupted and turned to the bad side of Reaping. Because of this turn of events with the male student Alexander had to step up and kill the other boy. However, his powers in the process and yet unmastered became unstable. Which resulted in his being frozen in a block of ice for five years. In the five years that Alexander had been frozen his girlfriend would grow up, graduate from the school and then become the headmaster of it. Rumors of why Alexander killed the male student would often go around, spreading the wrong story about how he killed his former friend out of jealousy. Instead of that his former friend was trying to kill students and destroy the school.
The reason for why this was so was because the school at the time had been seen by the students as ‘problematic’ in that it tended to care very little for the students and only in the end resulted in producing Reapers for work. Which Alexander’s girlfriend would go on to try and fix, but has been unable to do much to change this treatment of the students. Though, along with the rumors of his jealousy, were comments of his being the reaper that killed a ‘Chosen One’ which his classmates imagined the other male student to be, since he was as well, and often more so, a better student than Alexander even was. Giving Alexander the title of Chosen One Slayer.
Eventually the ice began to thaw and the still teen-aged Alexander was freed from its confines. Though he was still made to attend the school to finish his reaping training. Of course, his girlfriend had moved on with life and could no longer date him, as he was a minor. But she did see to it that he was treated well by his fellow classmates which took a liking to him much more easily than those of his classmates years before. Alexander would graduate with high marks and go on to become a superior reaper overall. Though the rumor still spread throughout the reaping world. Alexander ignores it when it is brought up, still finding the subject to be a sore one. Though, this has had effect on his personal life, which has led to the higher ups in the Reapers sending him to be the reaper of Mythological Creatures.
Since he has been assigned to taking the souls of non-human creatures Alexander’s life has remained relatively average over the last several years of his life. He does very little to divert from completing assignments and living out his life as normally as possible, despite being a reaper...
