Munchies Queen Review: (7/25/18) A Dopo Sourdough Pizza
Today’s munchies adventure led to A Dopo Sourdough Pizza ( 516 Williams St, Knoxville, TN 37917) that specializes in wood-fire, sourdough crust pizzas. Knoxville has been its home since August 2016. This was a pick-up order, however I am ALL about the experience of a food establishment whether I am dining in or take-out! My thought as a customer service specialist is: you can serve great food all day long, but poor customer service can lead to a bad taste in peoples’ mouth! I tried the 12″ Margherita pizza, it had crushed plum tomatoes + house pulled mozzarella + basil + olive oil (YUM!). As I walked in I was slightly confused on how the pick-up process works (Shameless A dopo first-timer here LOL). I wasn’t sure who to talk to or where to pick-up because, when I walked in no one was standing at the host desk/podium (NOT COOL) and they didn’t appear to be slammed with patrons on that note. Anyway, I found myself walking straight to the area where you can see the chefs preparing the pizzas. The host (or so I assume) confirmed the name on my pick-up,said it would be just a moment, brought my pizza with a smile, BA-DA BING, BA-DA BOOM...DONE! FUN FACT: “A dopo” is a translate to “ see you later in Italian! First taste reaction is, the pizza was so-so. I liked the crust, but the dough seemed to get soggy quickly which made it a little to chewy and mush for my taste. The sauce was pretty good. I’m a believer in second chances, so I would give it another go. Overall I give it 3 out of 5 crowns.
