Day four of @tes-summer-fest I originally didn’t have any ideas and was just going to skip today. But @thequeenofthewinter and @oblivions-dawn helped me come up with an idea.

Here I give you a comic sketch of Teldryn teaching little Dreki how to be a thief by stealing Neloth’s tea cup and hiding under the table. Neloth knows but plays along. Also, him and Teldryn bought a tablecloth that morning for this specific purpose.

#8 What if...

John Doe was reborn as All for One’s nephew?

John tried, he really did. He wanted to be the hero for once, but what did it matter when his dad was dead. Murdered because the government can't stand for people to go against their corrupt beliefs.

And so when the officers surrounded and ambushed the school, John fought without a care. Each bloodied fist into flesh was filled with fury and anguish.

John fought and fought, and even when he was blinded by another’s power, he still fought.

He could barely stand, but he fought.

He could barely think, and he was glad.

And then everything ended, and he embraced the darkness. 

Maybe he would reunite with his dad, and everything would be okay again…

Of course, fate has never been on John's side.

Notes:

John died fighting the authorities, and now he's been reborn into the world of quirks. John was born with snow white hair and his bruised golden eyes. In other words, he looked a lot like Jane Doe and All for One. Of course, John's white hair was inherited from All for One's brother, not that John knew that because soon after he was born his parents passed away and he was put in foster care (at least that's the official story). No one knew of John’s true heritage except his parents, and for some time no one, not even John will know the truth.

Memories came back to John in dreams as he grew up until they all came flooding back when he reached middle school. John thought he was quirkless his whole life. Thought that was why the foster adults hated him so much, but it turns out he just didn't know that he could copy and amplify the others' abilities.

But as John's memories came back so did so much of his anger and anguish. He was alone in this new world, and he had no family, no nothing. His friends, his dad, were unreachable to him. 

Still, John dyes his hair black, and he thinks of himself as John Doe the son of William and Jane Doe again. The son of a cripple (quirkless) father, and a mother whom he never even knew. But he will die before he renounces them. Die before their sacrifices are forgotten.

This world is corrupt like his last one. Cripple, quirkless, it’s all the same. And John wants to save this world because he’s failed his last. He failed his friends who were counting on him because he didn’t want to be there anymore. But here he is again, a different world, but the same thing. It still hurts and he’ll never forget his dad, but the pain is now a reminder to live and fight to change the world he lives in.

Of course, when he inevitably gets into UA high and his abilities are telegraphed on TV, certain villains start to pay attention.

And it’s only a matter of time before a certain introvert and extrovert teacher pair (Erasure Head and Present Mic) find out that John is living in foster care and is practically homeless to avoid the abuse in the homes and will try to adopt him. ;)

All the while, All for One is beginning to learn he has a nephew and wants to teach him in the ways of villainy.

Wants the last of his family to remain close. To never get hurt. The last reminder of his brother that's not tainted by others like One for All has been. A blessing by a time travel quirk, or whatever brought John two centuries past when his brother long passed away, All for One will not lose his family ever again.

Summary:

“About that… does the hospital have a copy machine?” Hitoshi chooses that moment to peak over Shouta’s shoulder, undoubtedly giving Tsukauchi a full view of his bloodied face. Unintentionally, he also gives Shouta the perfect opportunity to watch shock, understanding, and sheer resignation flash through the detective’s eyes.

“You’re not telling me that you found another child on the way to the hospital with the first one,” Tsukauchi says.

“I did not find another child on the way to the hospital with the first one,” Shouta lies.
