Bonus finger point:
Philippe: I don't care that my son is dating a witch. I'm more concerned that this pagan witch is dating my Catholic, born-again virgin son.

We did it boys,
I see you are too a fan of Adow. What do you like the most about upcoming season 2 and what are you eager to see on tv from SoN and BoL? Any opinions on Teresa and Matthew, cast in general?
Yes, I’m a massive ADOW fan!!!
Having seen the first 7 episodes of the second season, I think the show did really well capturing the vibe of Shadow of Night. The essence is just right, you know? The writing has only become better and more powerful. I was glad to see that not too many things were changed in the plot (mostly, the timeline has been altered) and only a few have been erased. I’m always a book purist, but I understand the necessity of adaptation and I have to say it works really well. Again, I’ve only watched 7/10 episodes but so far I can’t complain about anything. The only way they could’ve done better is if they’d been granted a longer season.
Every crew member who worked on the sets and costume departments deserves multiple awards, I mean it. Everything looks perfect. Teresa and Matthew do an impressive job as Diana and Matthew, their chemistry is off the charts, and they’re even more spontaneous than they were in season 1. Matthew in particular gives one of the best performances I’ve ever seen on tv and he definitely deserves an Emmy for this season. The rest of the cast also shines through. Each returning cast member has at least one very powerful and emotional scene (my favorite was Ysabeau’s), and the new characters are everything I dreamed they would be. The real scene-stealers are Gallowglass and Kit, but truly everyone is great.
Things from The Book of Life that I’m eager to see on screen next season? Goddess, so many! If I had to pick one thing that I’m looking forward to the most in season 3, it would have to be Jack’s reunion with D&M.
I’ll publish real reviews of the episodes soon, stay tuned!
