For #MeMadeMay on May 2, I wore a new make. It's a first-draft #adrienneblouse from @fridaypatterncompany with hacked sleeves. I used two remnants of cotton interlock from @joann_stores to test the fit. The sleeves (and body) were lengthened as long as I could with the fabric I had. I hemmed the sleeves and added elastic, and they were just a bit too short. Then I saw @aocsews ' version with cuffs. I had some scooter print fabric left, so I tried that. I hand whip-stitched them inside the elastic line. I love it! The shoulders needed a lot of fussing. I chose a size medium for my shoulders, and my frame is about 2 inches narrower than the front body expected. I pinched out some and re-sewed that seam. I also shortened the shoulder elastic a couple of inches and shortened the ribbing pieces by .75" each. That gave me a much straighter neckline. I had a good result with the gathered sides/full bust adjustment suggested in the pattern, though I was skeptical. With a tiny ribcage and DDD cup, that wasn't a sure bet. Verdict: it's a win. Will attach cuffs differently next time, and still need to fuss with getting the shoulder fit right. I may add ribbons with snaps at the top shoulder to hold my bra straps in place, since I'm not a fan of showing them and they showed after wearing a while. It's a win. Next version? Solid colored... probably teal. #colorjoyfullife #memade #sewistsofinstagram #imadeitmyself #sewmuchtalent @sewmuchtalent @curlykat517 @knitsune @mabawg @mx_kyrsten @ericaspitzfaden @tater_tot_noxious @onesewsweet @anncie2001 https://www.instagram.com/p/B_wRpuYpm5u/?igshid=ggovf0yrju5k
