One of the most revelatory moments of my faith came while pondering Christ’s Passion (his journey toward the Cross). Scripture and Tradition teach that Christ fell 3 times on his walk to that holy hill. Three times he fell. And three times He rose again. There are so many times on my journey toward the Holy Hill of God that I myself have fallen. It would have been easy to just lay there on the ground and die. But I kept seeing Christ’s face laying next to me, bloodied and bruised, his temples throbbing from the pain of a thorny crown, and I had this thought, “What thought came to you in that moment, Jesus, that was so powerful it moved you to get up and keep walking?” And I heard His Spirit say to me, “You child. I thought of you watching me and what I would say to you when you wondered if I would fight for you. And so I got up, to show you my ‘Yes.’ I will never stop fighting for you.” Proverbs 24:16-18 tells us “For a righteous man may fall seven times And rise again, But the wicked shall fall by calamity. Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, And do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles; Lest the Lord see it, and it displease Him, And He turn away His wrath from him.” 🙏🏼 Lord help us see your face when our brothers and sisters have fallen, let us not smile at their end, because we know until you come again it is not the end yet. Grant us grace to keep getting up when we have fallen. Be merciful in your judgements upon us. And remember your words to us, never to forsake us. Fight for us dear Jesus! We Trust in you. 🔥🔥🔥 Come! Holy Spirit and kindle in us the fire of your love.
