sos my rose is dying i think
ok so recently my dad bought a little rose bush, it's pretty small, id say 15cm above ground. Anyway. Help is greatly appreciated bc i never cared for roses before and i have NO CLUE what im doing other than instinct. Here's what i know:
The roots are compressed as FUCK. It's in a tiny ass plastic pot. I will repot it as soon as i can, but rn I can't find any soil. Also, what soil do i use? And what pot would be ideal?
It had a bunch of flowers and blossoms, however my brother tore almost all of them off the day after we got it. Im guessing that wasn't very pleasant, so maybe that's a factor on why it's so bleh rn. It currently has one blossom (if that's what it's called? Like before the flower opens) and i will repot it after that falls off
I can only keep it on my windowsill, but i try to keep it away from direct sunlight so it doesn't burn. I also have two orchids and a succulent (idk what it is exactly) on the same windowsill.
i open my window every morning for like half hour- hour, depends, but other then that the window is closed. The room is pretty standard temperature, and as far as im aware there are no drastic temp fluctuations that could affect it, other than maybe some heat from the morning sun
When i first got it, the dirt was worse then the Sahara. Ive been watering it slowly over the course of like a week or so, putting it in a tray below the pot. It sucked it right up every time, and pretty quickly. The top layer of dirt is still pretty dry. My mom put some rice water yesterday, bc she heard it was good for plants.
Some lower leaves are drying up and dying, and some leaves near the middle are becoming slightly yellow. My mom thinks it looks a little floppy, and i kinda agree.
