Re-reading the Tulli Tribe arc for fic reference

I think about this parallel a lot. Whether it was intentional or a complete accident is definitely up to interpretation, but I still think it's a good one. (read right to left, I put the images in manga order)

Granted, Zeno learns to be grateful for food and literally everything (man has literally had to make himself clothes with whatever he could find---probably a very interesting low that is worth mentioning) he ever comes to have in his possession, and was already a pretty polite/educated/well mannered/grateful boy, but I just. I really like this thought y'know? The third person talking is the thing he does bc of Kaya, I'd like to imagine he felt so terrible about letting that one uneaten bowl of rice go to waste that he became incredibly passionate about refusing to let food be wasted.

Also, brief, very nice little character development touch, in my humble kayazeno opinion.

(Also there's my "Zeno is always hungry" theory from ages ago but I like the Kayazeno better)

So uh Tails would be Yoon (I'd love to make him Tae-Yeon or even Tae-Woo for the little brother vibes, but both characters are too backgroundish for him in my opinion)

Kija - Knuckles (? Jae-Ha fits too for the vibes, but his "must protect at all costs falls more in line with kija-? all the dragons are still kinda up for debate)

Zeno - ??? (I was tempted to make this Tails NOT FOR THE ANGST. I CANNOT EXPRESS. I WOULD NOT PUT THE EIGHT YEAR OLD THROUGH THESE VERY SPECIFIC HORRORS. But bc Tailsmo and Kayazeno!! Bc doomed romance. BUT THATS THE ONLY REASON WHY I S W E AR .

The amount of respect and gratitude I have for those who had faith in Zeno when it seemed like he was the ultimate big bad of the series is unmatched. Yes, he made mistakes, but that's what makes him interesting, flawed, human.

I don't condone some of the things he did, but if anything, they made me love and understand his character 10× more. Not to victimize him or anything ofc, but ultimately, his character is interesting and fun and cool because he made some bad choices. His true character is realistically influenced by the life he's lived, and that's why he's my favorite. I love that he's the bubbly, energetic character of the series, but finding out there's so much more to him than that really got to me yk?

Zeno is a fundamentally kind person. He loves to make people smile. He loves too fiercely for his own good and he knows it. His acknowledgement of it is his downfall, in trying to distance himself so much because he knows what has to be done. What he has to take upon himself to do because if not him, who? If not now, when?

I was so willing to stick with him even if he did become a full on villain. It's actually really funny lol. But yeah! Just needed to ramble haha

Hot take: I know Zeno is the oldest but in modern AUs/AUs in general I need him to be the youngest, or second youngest if you want to keep Shin-Ah as the technical baby of the 4 dragons, which I can totally get on board with. But anyways, point is, we never got to see much (any) of Zeno’s childhood and I think after all he's been through, he should get to be a kid with good friends and a semi-normal childhood at least.

Hak - security (also plays guitar but would rather not perform)

Yoon - manager (has musical talent but hates spotlight)

Kija - bass and background vocals

Shin-Ah - keyboard/piano and songwriter/composer

Jae-Ha - hot guitarist (guitar/string instrument prodigy but cannot sing)

Zeno - drummer and co-songwriter/composer

I will be drawing them. There are very specific songs I'm pairing with their voices so I'm kind of crying over it, so! I will be posting abt that soon with more info bc I'm silly like that. I might draw comics for this??? No promises.
