ASMR Rant Pt. 13: Thoughts after binging Cicero, Sleepy Soundbox, Vale Voicemail, and Aelswyth Audio
Tag list: @alexrayva, @echovale052
Note: It has been a minute since I've binged these channels, so this rant is a long-time coming XD. Also, Vale Voicemail is in fact Echo's channel! It's important to lovingly torment your moots by reviewing their audios, keeps them healthy-
Cicero: Bro's got talent-
Mental state: The one you call when you have a fun but definitely stupid plan in mind-
Favorite audio: Now Hiring Minions (yes please let me be an evil sidekick I'm BEGGING-)
Audio I thought I'd dislike but ended up loving: A Wolf in Gentleman's Clothing (again, werewolves can be iffy for me, but he pulled it off)
Okay, so I had been aware of Cicero before the binge thanks to Earl Grey Audio's H.O.P.E. series. Then I ran into him while on call in the Bunkshelf server, discovered he had a YouTube channel, and made him my next rant subject.
Definitely a homie-shaped channel, the platonic audios were so sweet- my favorite was "Spray-Painting with Your Street Artist Friend", I was actually responding to the character while I was listening lol. Also the angst in "Train to the Afterlife" was perfection.
I fully believe every Audio RP/ASMR creator either has a vampire/werewolf audio or is destined to make one- it's a canon event- Cicero's was good but also wonderfully creepy, enjoyed it a lot.
"Now Hiring Minions" had me wheezing, I love getting to see the business side of being a supervillain XD.
Sleepy Soundbox: aka KIWI ONE OF THE COOLEST ARTISTS EVER-
Known about Kiwi for a WHILE, big big big fan of their art, they're so talented.
"Stumbling into a Strange Cave" was my favorite of the two audios, first of all Kiwi's voice is REALLY nice- humming was also lovely. The character design was so pretty and I loved their story.
"Your Vampire Best Friend Feeds on You" was also good, I like audios where the friend is a mythic. But the conversation felt very natural AND the feeding sounds weren't super aggressive which was great. Also the bit about blood types, I'm cackling-
..... is it weird to say I'm picky about feeding sounds in vampire audios-
No- ok I have preferences shut up-
Vale Voicemail: One of my beloved moots-
Echo I first met here on Tumblr, but I got to know them better after joining the Bunkshelf server (I have adopted them as cousin now). I knew they were an artist, and I LOVED their style- but, like with Cicero, as soon as I found out they had made audios I immediately sped off to devour them XD.
"A fae stole your attention" was my favorite of the two, WAS THAT "THE BIRD SONG" YOU WERE HUMMING AT THE BEGINNING, ECHO-
Good actor and amazing artist, it'd be so cool to see them in more projects.
Aelswyth Audio: Ah yes, WOMEN-
Mental state: Once again, kicking my feet, blushing, giggling, I'm fine-
Favorite series: Dragon Queen. Hands down, no question.
Series I thought I'd dislike but ended up loving: Perilune (THE STORYYYYYYYYY)
I had heard about Aelswyth before this, I think I stumbled across her channel during one of my previous binges and I added her to the list.
Then I met RenInABox (I have now adopted him as uncle. Yes I do like the found family trope, why do you ask-)
One night, while I was studying in VC and he was keeping me company, Ren suggested we watch one of Aelswyth's series.
"Oh I collabed with her, by the way."
"Did you now-" *insert me immediately looking for the series he starred in*
*finds Dragon Queen*
*selects the first episode*
"WHY IS THAT ONE THE FIRST THING YOU GO FOR-"
"BECAUSE BESTEST POSSUM IS IN IT NOW HUSH-"
The lore and the story in "Dragon Queen" was AMAZING, I loved binging it.
Also Rowan was unreasonably fine. Ambrose is also my boi.
"Crew of Two" was next on the list, I love a good sci-fi story BUT THE TWISTS IN HERE AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH- also the sfx and editing for this series were peak.
Also watched "Perilune" and "Spellbound"- "Perilune" had an amazing story, and at this point I really need to stop doubting creators about their werewolf/wolf shifter characters because they deliver every time. I also liked the inclusion of other types of shifters and vampires in this series, the worldbuilding was really cool to see.
I have discovered that ZSakuVA gives me the biggest jumpscare when I hear him in another creator's audio- I don't look at the descriptions or titles while I'm binging so as soon as his character came on, I got whiplash- "WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'RE IN HERE TOO-"
"Spellbound" would be my second favorite, I binged that whole series while I was working on my garden. Suchhhhhhh a sweet story, AND I FREAKING CALLED ONE OF THE TWISTS-
"Oh, you have a headache?"
"GIRL NO I DON'T I'M TRYING TO DISTRACT YOU-"
"WHY WOULD YOU DRINK THAT-"
"I KNEW IT, I WASN'T GONNA LET YOU SACRIFICE YOURSELF-"
Winter break is here finallyyyyy, I can get back to binging (Echo and Alex sent me a list I need to finish smh), BUT ALSO GET BACK TO FANFIC WRITING, I miss it so much-
