Aereis from Creatures of Sonaria✨
Handcrafted and born from fallens stars in the void, Aereis is a creature unlike any other. Aereis don't have a heart but rather a star-like core that rumbles with energy and bleeds out in gold.
Aereis have a close-knit fundamentalist hierarchy, with the "Prophet" positioned on top of the others. It is rumored that "Prophets" posses the ability to allow their believed creator and god to speak through them.
Aereises view most creatures as lesser beings.
An Aereis's flesh is made of gold. Its core produces nearly an infinite amount of gold/blood, which allows it to be almost immune to most toxins. In fact, an Aereis could live for centuries without withering as long as its core isn't damaged.
New brain worms who's this?
Transformers has been taking over my mind recently and with it came a creatures of sonaria au that's still being cooked up in the kitchen-
But ay have Stellarscreech! The starscream of the au (because of course I had to make my fav first)
Megs ripped off his wings so he could be more of an asset and fly faster than any living thing should. Poor guy smh
Aereis headcanons!! (This will be long!)
I think aereis would be sort of uncanny, and wouldn’t prefer to go up to or speak to other creatures.
They wouldn’t speak Sonarian, but rather their own language, and are incredibly hard to find (most often, one can only find them watching other creatures, alone).
The only exception to this would be their swarms (which would probably have a gold-related name) that appear once in a blue moon to hunt Parahex.
They’d probably use their horn as a weapon to plunge into their enemies, as biting them with their mask can be hard.
When using their ability, area escape, they eject around 40% of their body weight in gold, allowing them to escape. This leaves them weak afterwards, and they hardly use it.
They are forced to use their gold breath extremely often, as otherwise they will overproduce gold and become too heavy to fly and/or extremely sick.
They have only three major internal organs; their core, brain, and their heart. They have no need for other organs you may find in other creatures (liver, kidneys, etc…) because they don’t eat. Their heart moves the gold around their body to help them stay warm (brings cold/cooling gold to the core to melt it and keep it liquid, moves hot gold away to make sure that they don’t freeze and become a golden statue).
^ If an aereis’s heart is damaged, they become lethargic and may become statue like in nature for up to a month (until their heart repairs itself, where they can then begin recovery)
^^ Only injures that kill them are injuries to the core and brain, they can also regrow limbs like axolotls
Very, very rarely, they can be seen playing with Sturbis (most often in the wintertime, at night)
I really really love aereis. Such critters. They are my favorite bugs in the creatures of sonaria!
