Just a Thought...
I often wonder what life would have been like to the African child had European ideologies not been forced down the throats of our forefathers, had colonialism simply been a nightmare and they’d woken up to the familiarity of their cultures, had our people never been taken to foreign lands ngaphesheya kwamalwandle under inhumane circumstances and eventually made into submissiveS...servants...slaves!
I wonder what the present youth lifestyle would look like had Western culture and values not been sold to us each and every day from generation to generation, in the media, in popular music so much so most of us turned our backs on our own cultures in exchange for foreign ones…would a principle like obedience for elders and concepts like Ubuntu be held in more esteem than a value system based on materialism and instant gratification?...I wonder
