[BUZZER]
Bruno: [sighs] I’m leaving, make it quick. Wyatt: Did you and Ivan enjoy your little escape from reality? Bruno: I don’t appreciate you stalking me.
Wyatt: Stalking is a strong word; I have friends near the Harbour. Bruno: You don’t do friends. Wyatt: Well, how much do we really know about people?
Bruno: Your father’s lost his mind if he thinks talking to Charlie is a good idea. Wyatt: She’s reasonable, I doubt they’ll come to much harm. It’s quite sensible that they’re continuing to do as father says… Bruno: Mhm…
Wyatt: Are you in on it? Bruno: … Wyatt: I highly doubt you need me to spell it out, Bruno. Let’s skip the pretence.
Bruno: Does Arturo know? Wyatt: You still have breath in your lungs, don’t you? Of course, I’m sure you’re mostly worried about Ivan, bu-… [SLAM]
Bruno: If you so much as look in his direction, the only thing left in your lungs is gonna be your own fucking blood. Is that spelled out clearly enough for you?! [the mirror against Wyatt’s back creaks softly – he squeaks something intelligible; the pressure against his neck unwavering]
Bruno: I don’t need much of an excuse to end your filthy existence, Wyatt; so, let’s skip the pretence. You touch them, you die-.. and I’ll make damn sure it’s more painful than being choked. Understood? Wyatt: [nods fervently]
Wyatt: [coughs – gasping for air] God-.. why is everyone obsessed with strangling me?! I helped them! Bruno: Why? Wyatt: Because I thought it’d be fun.
Bruno: Don’t make-… Wyatt: I’m fucking done, okay? Bruno: Why now?
Wyatt: Would you continue to protect a family who hated your mere existence; never listened to you? Bruno: No. Wyatt: There’s your answer then.
…
Wyatt: [sighs] Now that we’ve got the inevitable choking out of the way, shall we have a productive conversation? That’s why I’m here after all… Bruno: Sure.
Wyatt: We both know that Spencer isn’t the only corrupt official in this city. The entire force is going to want to brush this under the rug; they’ll play it off as a misunderstanding, force him to resign, quell the rumours, done and dusted. No investigation, no freedom, no justice. The whole stunt with the press was a good idea, I’ll give them that, but it’s not going to be enough on its own. Ignore the drugs, every man and his dog know a dealer in this city; it’s the trafficking that’s going to get their attention. All it takes is a handful of people to report some witness statements; and suddenly, it can’t be ignored anymore… Start with the dancers at Lucie’s, the regulars know what goes on, Aisha especially. It’s important for them to avoid being specific. They don’t know who makes it happen, or how it happens, just that it does. It protects me, it protects you, Ivan, Oscar; but it won’t protect him.
[DEEP BREATH] Make sense?
Bruno: Yeah. Wyatt: Do you trust me-.. on this at least? Bruno: Begrudgingly.
Wyatt: Don’t piss around, Lucie’s isn’t long for this world if the IRS have anything do to with it; we have Darien to thank for that… Fool proof, right? Bruno: [sighs] Right.
